On hometime until Tuesday, first 3 weeks of training with my trainer went well. It's good to get a break and be home for a few days. I took my CDL test on Wednesday night and failed the driving portion, but passed the Pre-Trip and Air Breaks. So in the near future we will have to make our way back to Richfield again to retake the driven part. Was kind of bummed, I totally nerved out and honestly drove like crap. My trainer also wouldn't let me swap from a fully 45k loaded trailer to a empty which kind bugged me a bit, it defiantly made the driven part of the test a little more difficult than it would of been with an empty. Next time will be on a empty though. The tester hit me hard for points on 2 hands on the wheel and hand on the shifter, which I thought I was doing a good job of not doing along with not shifting during turns. He also hit me on a few of my turns.

Guess I will keep plugging away for a week or two here and retake and hope it goes better the second time. The good thing is I won't have to redo pre-trip, air breaks and backing. From what I was hearing this guy who tested me never or rarely passes anyone on the driven test the first time, money grab maybe? I did drive poorly compared to what I had been out on the road, not sure it was bad enough to fail in my own eyes anyway lol.

Getting anxious to get the training completed and into my own ride though, the hardest part of this whole process is the training part in the truck with another person where you are sharing a very small space and not having a lot of "your own" things with you that you'd want because there just isn't room. In the end this will be worth it because I am loving the job, and being on the road and loving Millis so far.

I use the the "Place" link on facebook for my wife and family to be able to see and track where I am, I try to do it every night for my wife, but sometimes the connection isn't that great. I am not sure if the facebook one uses or is linked to google or not though. My wife is always on facebook so she likes that I do that.

Sitting in Lodi bobtailing to Trenton from Weedsport. Dropped glass today and they wanted me to bobtail down to trenton, said they need all the mt in Ny and need more brought up there. So don't know if we got a new account or whats up, seems odd to bobtail me 600 miles unless its more than just busy freight time.

Hit my one year mark on the 14th. Yippie.

They had us bobtail last weekend from Atlanta to Eden as well ... was something like 378ish miles. Seems like it's a bit slow right now for whatever reason.

Its very slow right now. Ran my butt off for a while, now its short 200-300 mile runs with 2 days on them with "no load available" when I'm ready.
