Millis chat room

Got invited by a friend of mine to join him otr for a week, to help settle my nerves some and give me a feel of the truckers lifestyle before I start my Millis adventure on Jan 14. We embarked yesterday from Lincoln Illinois with a pu in farmer city to Leland Mississippi. Delivered this morning. Picked up in drew Mississippi with a load headed for charlotte nc. Stopped for lunch at a flying j and was given the opportunity to meet and speak with a 16yr veteran of Millis. Enjoyed our talk and was able to learn more. Im anticipating my start with Millis.

 

You can ODD to Weedsport you are only 20 mins away roughly. And DC traffic will always suck no matter what. And you can sleep at Patterson, just creepy up there imo.

 

That's awesome of your friend to take you out fzoo. I ended up picking up in Auburn NY at Owens Brockway and got back to Weedsport terminal with 1 minute left on my 14. Kinda weird... being the only driver here haha. Heading to Albany GA for Thursday Delivery 1100 miles roughly including deadhead. Hope I don't have to drop it in Eden NC due to having hometime scheduled for 23DEC12. This will be my longest run yet. Will have to book!

 

If you don't alrdy know, if u get to Albany the night before you can drop it at the Terminal.

Rest area at I 81Radford VA for the night. Was trying to get closer to the interchange at I77 but construction and an accident prevented that. 9 hours from albany will fly at 0230 south.

 

Third day out with my buddy, enjoying it so far. Been picking his brain for any and all suggestions he may have for me. Short amount of time spent out has definitely eased my mind and nerves. I'm thankful for the invite and am really anticipating learning more.

 

Delivered to International Warehouse in Albany GA was told to drop at Albany yard, here until tomorrow going to put ready for dispatch in at 0730 eastern. 1685 for the week so far. So ill atleast have 2000 heading towards the house which isn't too bad.

 

I'm in cartersville tonight. If anyone else is here, I'm walking up the street for wings

 

Got preplanned for the weekend. Going to get home a day later than I put in for but I get to stay out a day later. I pick up here in Albany and go to Trenton OH pick up in Trenton OH and deliver Monday morning Richmond VA. Giving me 2800 Miles for the week. Id like to say that it is possible to make money out here being new this will be the third 750+ bring home check in a row. I am working off of a recap of about 7 hours a day after tomorrow so I am going to work 8 hours tomorrow deliver in Trenton the nextday pick up in Drop Lot and stage myself for early morning delivery Monday morning. I'm happy with being home a day late, I can't complain I live in the middle of nowhere with freight 70 miles north or 100 miles eeast nothing inbetween their doing a great job.
