Well I saw a funny as heck movie last night and thought I would share it with you guys in case you want to watch it on your ten hour break. Some of you might have seen it already. "Just go with it" with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston. I have not laughed so hard in a while. It is definitely one of Sandlers better movies by far.

Sully72 do you always run like this or was this one of those weeks where everything was going your way. That's a heck of alot of miles for just 1 week. Also is there any danger(driver fatigue) to running so hard.
-
Q
No. Idont run like this all the time because freight/delivery times don't allow but I always set myself up to do it. What I mean is I left atlanta for a 15 hour trip so I ran 11 took 10hr break and delivered 4 hours later so I have 7 hours to put into another run. Well, I got another run 6hrs away. Perfect except it doesn't deliver until mon am. So I have 22 hrs on my hands. Had I picked the run id done another 11 hrs after break and got there 8 hrs early so I had 10hr break by time they unloaded and could run 11 again. But we don't have the luxury of picking our loads.jdimes said: ↑Sully72 do you always run like this or was this one of those weeks where everything was going your way. I never run tired, never. I can always and do always pull over and nap when I feel tired. Some days might need an hour nap after 4 hours driving following a long break other days I reach my 11 and wish I had 5 more I could run. Can't ever predict when ill need a break but when I do I take it cause being tired leads to exhaustion and exhaustion leads to mistakes which lead to accidents and nothing good ever came from an accident . Tired= reststop. -
I guess I would add I run so legal that I staple all my receipts with time stamps to my paperlog to serve as proof that I log it as it happened.

Just two different ways of stating it.Baritone said: ↑Well it did use up hrs fast and had to take reset but today is my 8th day and finishing 4,952 pd miles including reset all 100% legal. See I got in 84 hrs in eight days by running hard and taking 34 off rather than trying to stretch out 70 over eight days. I know that this is a lifestyle job but its more a job to me than the lifestyle it is to others. I can't justify 15 & 16 hr breaks when the only reason im here is to send money home for our family and try to get there to enjoy it with them. I've heard some say that they want to save their hours so they don't miss a load well I already ran that load to my 70th hour in 5-6 days and after restart one or two more are bonus. Another way to say it is if I can get paid say$ 1000 in 5 days why would I tell the boss wait until I am out for 8 days to pay me the same money. Besides I eat more in 8 days than I do in 5 so I need more money. Im just glad freight is there to allow the wheels to keep moving like this i hate when i cant deliver a day or two early. Make the money and get home is how I feel about the job. Sight see in retirement. My reasoning for running like that but that's the beauty of the job you can run hard within parameters or take it easy within parameters and we can vary from day to day week to week and we can change it up how we see fit.we have lots of choices on how we do things which makes it attractive.Click to expand...

Sitting at a distributor and some poor Werner driver is picking up beer at the back of his trailer. I hope for his sake he didn't strap the back and just lost the back 2 pallets because the alternative is the whole load shifted forward and he'll still be here tomorrow without help.

Well this week is off to a crappy start. Been sitting in this door for just under 2 hours and they just dropped the dock plate and seemed to walk away for another break. So far I have 30 hours in this 347 mile ld. Guess it was too good to be true last week. Ugh. Just hope they at least pay detention.
