You don't receive any pay for the first few weeks of classroom and range training?
I thought they paid you as follows:
First 3 Weeks = $500.00 per week Week 4 = $550.00 Weeks 5-8 = $600.00

This is the course outline per their website:
Class days will be every Monday to Friday. 8 or 10 hours per day and or night. 128 minimum total hours.
Week one - Class room instruction in the areas of
- Trucking industry overview
- Hours of service
- Trip planning and Map reading
- Control Systems
- Vehicle Inspection
- Coupling / Uncoupling
- Range driving
- 4 days practice on the range and road. 40 hours.
- 1 day class room.
- All week spent driving on the road practicing safe driving habits
So I was thinking these first 3 weeks they give you $500 per week, 4th week $550....and so on. So if they don't pay you until you get out on the road, what are you suppose to do for the first 3 weeks? -
Just finished school yesterday Ohio and I am waiting for my trainer to pick me up. You don't get paid while in school and it sounds like it takes another two weeks after you go with your trainer before you get paid.
Gunrunner84 Thanks this. -
Congrats on completing school. I start Monday in Trenton. Any advice
before I leave? So sounds like pay maybe two weeks behind? Where is
your trainer out of in relation to your home/
Thanks.......be safe out there

Best advice would be to show up on time, have everything on that list with you and pay attention.
I guess pay is a week behind and then another few days to get it deposited.
My trainer lives in Wisconsin, I was going to go with a guy outta NY but his trainee missed his test out date or something.
Bill the instructor is a great guy and one helluva teacher....best of luck! -
Thanks...Forgot to ask ya.......did you stay at the hotel? If you did do they pick you up there every morning?
-
Sure did and the students that stay there get a van to drive back and forth from school and you can take it into town for lunch during class.
-
That's cool.......Looks like there is alot in that area.
Thanks for the help. -
So what you are saying is have some money saved up before making the leap.
Is the school training three weeks prior to going out with a trainer? -
Last time I saw Millis Training cost it cost $2500 for the three weeks of training. They DO NOT pay you for those weeks. After the training is completed, you will then be hired and start the training pay while you are on the truck with a trainer.
