if you lose straps because of this, the shop should replace them.

I gave a driver two straps the other day when I picked up his sealed trailer.

if it's already sealed, then I run it with no straps. think about it, straps on the back do nothing. these trucks don't accelerate fast enough to need them on the back.

Might be taking a chance. What if you're climbing the grade bouncing around a lot. Heard stories of beer having to be restacked. Was thinking the driver never secure the load?

I run Miller loads without straps a lot. Or just one strap. And I've never spilled a load. Well, with the exception of one pallet of 2 liter soda bottles and that had 3 straps on it! And none were damaged.

Every load I have seen that was spilled was either spilled to the front from hard breaking or to the side from taking curves too fast!

    Hegemeister Thanks this.

I don't know if any of you on here park your truck in Inverness, Fl, or know who does but the driver left his dome light on in the truck, noticed it last night when I parked beside him. Thought maybe one of you on here knew he/her and could pass it on to them.

On keg loads, I use one load bar and one strap and I never drop any kegs either. I can't believe how many people back up to the dock with kegs out of the pallets and think it's ok.

On those short kegs when they put like one pallet in the middle in the back, I have one extra long strap that will wrap all the way around them to keep them in the middle.

millis policy is to strap all beer loads. if they find out you dont or havent you will be reprimanded i know a few drivers that have been spoken to. i also have seen a couple drivers who didnt strap their beer loads and when they are being unloaded you can see their pallets are leaning. also you should buy a pair of bolt cutters. they arent expensive and you may need them more than you know. plus you can write them off on your taxes if it bothers you that much. also over the months you will acquire more straps. i now have 7. some places i pick up from put straps in the trailers they preload. then the receiver just leaves them in the trailer, that equals SCORE!.

Not only does Millis require every load to be strapped, the DOT will fine you off they look in a loaded trailer and it isn't loaded to the doors. That is classified as unsecured cargo. Even though it is inside a van. Had this conversation the other day. Had 3 different drivers talking about DOT looking in the back of the van to see if it was strapped properly.
