There are maybe a handful if that of regional trainers that where trainers before they passed the rule you have to be an otf driver to train. Chances are slim of getting one.

all of the GA/ southeast regional trucks are the smaller ones. They call us heavy haul down here.

there are a few who are "grandfathered in" as trainers but no mew trainers are allowed to be regional, at least not in the southeast

just like any other job, you would get paid for the days you work. if you get a regional trainer, you would only be paid for 5 days and not all 7

The way we ran it... we ran hard till we were out of hours... if that was sat.. then good if thatwas tues work we would work the weekends...once I got my CDL we: stayed out and finished the 15k miles. You only get paid the days ur in the truck... I still got paid 6 days a week pay because I would drive us to the trainers house and my car was there to drive home. Like LB said... its just cus my trainer had been here so long that he can train regional. He was a great trainer... I was the first one in my class to get my own truck and all you regional guys know how hard it is to get miles compared to OTR. I just had.my first solid week in my own truck and made 3750 paid miles. OTR seems way easier and practical training wise. And the weight u guys haul in a small truck would be a problem if u had multiple regional trainers. PS typing on cell phone sux
