Na, it won't sway my decision. I am definitely putting in an application with Millis when the time comes. I was just curious as to some of the reasons why drivers may leave Millis besides not being cut out for OTR. Obviously there are some really crappy companies out there and I understand why one would leave them but Millis seems to be pretty good and somewhere I feel I would stay for a long while if not possibly retire from.

I also inquired about if Millis is constantly expanding because they are always hiring. I know some of these positions are to fill people that left but in your experience does it appear that Millis is trying to expand?

Again, these are just curiosities of mine and nothing more. Just trying to find out more about the company :)

I'm sure there are many different reasons people leave. Personal reasons, can't take it, thought it would be easier. For drivers with experience, some think the grass is greener on the other side, maybe a local job, etc...Some people you can't make happy no matter what. For me this job is more attitude than anything else. The driving part comes easy to me. It's the frustrating things that really test me. I don't get irked half as much as I used to in my earlier years. That helps a lot.

Im sitting at a truck stop and listening to truck next to me with the engine fan kicking on and off which made me think of this tip for drivers: its that time of year where we may have to idle to keep truck cool to catch some z's. Your fan clutch is like any other mechanical part, the more u use it the faster it wears out so if your idling with air on turn fan switch on and clutch wont be engaging and disengaging every 5 minutes and that'll. Be one less thing to take u off the road while its repaired.

Hired on with millis 9/22/10, issued my own truck 11/11/10. Not even a year as millis is my first employment in this industry. Most of us post our experience level on our profile which is attached to every post.

Alright Millis drivers, here is another question for you. I am probably driving ya'll crazy and if I am I apologize.

What are the top five things you like about Millis so far? If you have more than that please list them.

Are you folks paid on a per diem or a per mile?? I have seen the per diem thing come up a few times?

I believe Bear is on per diem and Sully and Baritone are on mileage pay. Millis gives you the option of choosing either one. They don't force per diem.
