I think I provided enough of a explanation why I don't wanna post details. I know Millis looks at these forums for a fact so why should I possibly expose myself to more scrutiny? I mean I wouldn't think they would care but then again I didn't think they cared enough to watch me in my truck either.
It's been a good company to get started with and there is a lot of good things about them but as far as privacy in their trucks all bets are off at this point.WisconsinF150 Thanks this. -
I didnt know they had a watch list but that does make sense.
That would explain why a few Millis drivers hear claim to know nothing. They probably weren't on the watch list.
I must have been on the watch list because that camera was at least 5 hrs a day. When I worked there the camera had a green exclamation point light and when it was green, it meant they were watching.
I was talking to a Millis driver a week ago and I guess they realized we knew they were watching when the light was on, so as I understand it, Millis got new cameras where it's not possible for us to know when they're watching. -
Yeah I'm not sure what was meant y "watch list" but I surmise it mat be camera related. There are new cameras and u cannot (at least I'm not aware) when they are recording. Light is green all of the time. Only after the fact when a video is being transmitted to the mothership can u tell something was recorded and sent because the light turns red and flashes red when uploading.
My only complaint about Millis is the inward facing camera and not being sure when / if you are being checked on outside of the parameters the camera is suppose to activate. I still do not think they can spend too much time randomly spot checking drivers. Too many trucks and it would take a lot of resources on a regular basis to do it wide spread.
Before the phantom message I received and mentioned in my previous post I dismissed anyone who said it happens as being paranoid. Now I'm really not so sure. -
There's a saying:
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not watching you.JOHNQPUBLIC and 59EX Thank this. -
Still fail to see the issue with the camera's unless you're doing/or wanting to do things you shouldn't be doing. I forget it's there half the time. The other half the time I only remember it's there cuz someone txts me and it stops me from grabbing my phone and replying, which is a good thing.

More power to you. I came in with a clean slate to Millis and didn't lie to them and I didnt expect to be lied to. It's a kinda a big thing with the way I was brought up.
No problem with the camera but be up front with your employees. It's put a bad taste in my mouth to what do far has been a good experience. I guess I'm more disappointed than anything else.WisconsinF150, Old - School, Solo_Seat and 1 other person Thank this. -
When I still worked at Millis, one driver told me he did research on the net and found that the company contracts out to prisons for prisoners to monitor the cameras. I have no way of knowing if thats true but it would make sense.
These prisons also do telemarketing and customer service calls for many companies. Real cheap labor...and they speak english. -
For me, the issue is privacy. Dan Millis might as well sit on my dashboard and stare at me all day.
I punched my camera twice, breaking the plastic mount.
Each time I imagined it was Dan Millis' ugly pock-marked face that I was punching. Kinda like a voo doo doll.

We might not agree on a lot, but that's ####### hilarious right there.WisconsinF150 Thanks this.
