Yeah you'd have to eat A LOT of food every day to beat the daily standard deduction. More than $63 every day you're gone.

I used TurboTax for a long time too. Then I had a complicated year and went to this guy. My brother also drives and uses him. He referred me and I just stick with him now. It is somewhat more than doing it myself but it saves boatloads of time and he knows what he is doing. My time is worth something to me.

I'm not sure of your experience with H&R (good, bad, ok etc...) but I would probably find a different option if you go OTR. Maybe not. Only reason I say that is I was aware of someone that I know who had no business doing anyone's taxes being hired by them at a location near me. Just food for thought.

I love RainX, some people hate it because it gets sketchy when it starts wearing off. I just try to keep up on it so it doesn't wear off.

I only use their website. I don't visit anyone in person. Personally I have no real experience with their company. Other than filling with them last year and this year online. I know some people are cautious about doing taxes online. The way I figure. Everything is sent through the internet. When you buy something at a store. Their point of sale verifies your account via the internet. So you can still be affected even though you were never 'online'. I like e-filing. I don't have to wait for check to come in the mail. It was very handy over the years. I many times would use my phones hotspot with my laptop. I would file and have the refund direct deposited. All before I had my next home time. I don't know if accountants have that ability or if I would have to wait for a paper check.
I agree that time is money. My filling is always simple. That is why I try to do mine as cheap as possible. When I get back on the road. I will save receipts and get a copy of my logs. I will let an accountant see what they can do.

Have you ever tried the RainX Wiper blades along with the RainX windshield treatment? They are more expensive but seem to work well.

Oh yeah I always file online, before with Turbo Tax and now with the accountant for the same reasons you gave. I'm sure most accountants do that now.

I have tried the RainX wipers and was not impressed with them. I was surprised because I figured I would be. Maybe I had a bad pair. I actually use my own wiper blades on the truck too. The Issued ones suck IMO. Do mot work very well for very long and are too short. The ones I found to be the best so far are Trico Onxy. I buy 26 inch ones to cover more area. Stock ones are 24 inch and do not cover enough of the windshield. If I recall they are anout $20 each. I replace them 2-3 times per year. They work so much better it's worth it to me. Sometimes I'll stick the one that had been on the driver's side over to the passenger side for a little while to get a little more use out of them.

I am in Eden, NC for school and have started a thread in the Millis section for anybody looking into Millis can see what they are all about. My blog may not be as good as others but different opinions and views are always a plus.

Man I definitely don't miss having to go to Eden. Getting there ducks. The whole 15k miles with my trainer we never went there and then like my 3rd load solo got sent to Container Whse just down the road. Driving 220 for 1st time and was raining like a mofo and night time lol. After going there a few times its not "that" bad but definitely my least favorite terminal

My third load with a trainer was leaving Eden headed north, so that was trial by fire if I've ever experienced it. US 220 (as I'm sure you know) is more of just an annoyance when you've done it a few times, but that first couple of shots down it is gonna leave you puckered. I was lucky that it was neither raining nor nighttime.

I was on US 220 to Route 58 a couple times. I picked up a load of tires from Good Year in Danville, VA. It was a fun road. US 460 is another interesting road. Took it from Suffolk, VA QVC DC to get to the West Virginia turnpike. I can't remember where I delivered it.

Yes the OEM blades on the trucks are not that good. I have tried different brands. The RainX weren't the best. Better than some of the ones I have tried. I will have to try the Trico Onxy.

I've even replaced headlights before. Though that was many years ago. The bulbs the trucks have now are pretty good.

I've been there once, and let me tell you, that place is an absolute pain to get into. As for whether they'll take you early, I was just on time the once there so I couldn't tell you.
