Alice called today and told me I was accepted. Thinking about attending private Cdl school near me so I will have more options. What made you guys choose Millis over all others?

One of the better starting pay packages in the industry, though I had to commit they financed the training only taking out $20/week. Run mainly east of the Mississippi. I have no desire to go to Cali or Canada, been there done that. Plus several other reasons but those are the main ones. I don't regret it at all, I think I made the right choice.

Hey bear why no desire to go to Cali? Do they give truckers a hard time there or something?

Too much traffic, too many laws. Not much freight out of there for a dry van.

Spent more than a month researching different companies. I narrowed my choices from there to the ones that met my criteria (offered company training, etc.). After that I spent time reading forums searching news articles about the different companies. After all that it came down to what companies had miles to run and who didn't. Main thing for me was I need miles to make a living. So I read more forum articles about truckers and their experiences with their companies. From reading the forum articles I learned that the people that gripe the most are usually the ones that don't run hard, so you ignore those articles. You can tell from some of the posts that they aren't running hard and I believe in this business if you don't run hard you get put to the side. Anyway, after all that research I chose to go with Millis. Everyone has their own criteria and yours will be different then mine. So do your research and you will be fine.

I just researched the forum and how other drivers were speaking of the companies. Millis seems to be a great match for myself.

Talked to a Millis recruiter today and while she ate her lunch (very annoying) she told me the home time promise is a lie! I thought they put that in writing. Anyways big turn off for me working at Millis. What kind of out/home time do you Millis guys get?
