For those who believe in saving the company $$ where we can I have discovered a website that I can access from my phone. When I enter my starting point and ending point it gives
me a lisg of fuel stops along the way with their price per gallon before and after tax.
See regardless of what the state fuel tax is the through IFTA the company gets credit for taxes paid and charged for miles driven at the end of the qtr/yr. So the tax isn't necessarily important as they pay what we drive but the actual price of diesel is what hits the bottom line directly. So here's an example:
I went from oh to illinois today. Cheapest authorized fuel stop was in indiana at $3.93 but before tax was 3.79 so I fueled in illinois where it was $4.09 but after tax was $3.72. They paid more in tax which means bigger credit towards their ifta bill but saved $.07/gallon on actual cost of diesel per gallon. Now on the 122 gallons I got it probably doesn't seem like much but we do this everyday and it sure would add up. In fact, though I really appreciate the co. Not panning our fuel stops, im suprised they haven't made mention of a site like this on a volunteer basis.
Anyway thw website was www.findfuelstops.com -
Delivered to Austin, MN. And then deadheaded to Menomonie, WI. to Andersen Windows and picked up a load that delivers 4am Monday in Hartford, CT. Dispatch asked me to drop it in Richfield, WI so another driver could pick it up and get home for Thanksgiving!! So after dropping that load dispatch gave me a load to pickup in Richfield that delivers to the Brewery in Trenton, OH. After picking load up a met up with FinallyTruckin and his trainer at the Kenworth Dealership in Oak Creek, WI. and had dinner then breakfast this morning....then it was time to split and I headed towards Trenton, OH. to deliver my load with hopes of getting another load to keep me rolling this weekend! Load delivered and now waiting for dispatch to find something...not looking good at the moment!!

I know this is way outdated but I read earlier, much earlier on this thread, you all were talking
about a good steak. Well I'm gonna turn ya all on to an excellent steak house near my
hometown. It's called "The Beef House", located on US41 in Covington Indiana. Great steak
and all the trimmings and the rolls are to die for!
It's a bit pricey but I believe it's well worth it. I'm not sure if Millis runs US41 much in west
central Indiana but check it out if you get the chance! There is a small Pilot on the east side
of US41 with an Arby's and a Wendy's. Small truck parking but everythings clean. -
