Millis OTR journal

I stayed in a Road Ranger last night in a lot that didn't have any lines, and we all parked pretty straight. Lots of owner operators there too, I'll take that any day over a Pilot.

 

Just a friendly reminder to not believe everything (maybe anything) you hear in terminal lounges. I generally avoid them.

I was just in Richfield and a driver was in there talking to another driver about something I have direct knowledge of. I was in there doing something work related and happened to overhear the conversation.

Everything he said was incorrect. What he said was based on small snapshots of time where he observed things and decided based on what he saw A, B, and C must be the case. There was a little bit of exaggeration on one of the points as well.

I don't think he had malicious intent, he was just gabbing, but all of the assumptions he made based on very little information were wrong. I did not bother to correct him although maybe I should have tried.

 

Today I learned that you don't need to read and then follow the directions for the truck was at the Heartland terminal in Memphis, but you just drive in according to the Heartland driver I talked with. Too bad I didn't find this out until after I parked for the night.

 

Just finished with my 4th student, wow. Don’t know how I made it work but I got it done. I was his second trainer, called him to introduce myself and in the first 2 minutes of conversation he told me he hates being told what to do. Lol. He was right, 7 weeks of telling him what to do while working around him not liking to be told what to do was a challenge.

 

He his in for a rough time on his own and likely with life in general.

 

Has to be 1-2 feet of snow here in Weedsport.

 

Well hey maybe 1 of the shop guys can plow it in the morning.... oh wait nvm "Millis" decided to terminate their jobs effective immediately with no notice.......such BS

 

Let me guess he was under the age of 30?

 

Probably more like heartland cutting cost
