I'd seen the oo in the Gary area a few times and was pretty surprised to see him in the yard at Cartersville.
It was an interesting day today with all the tech problems. Between the Qualcomm messaging not working, Omnitracks loosing the GPS signal several of times, my phone crashing, the Rand McNally GPS mileage changing several times all while I was trying to find my way around Atlanta it was fitting when the AC needed to rest for 15 minutes before it started to work again.

When it rains it pours.Still undecided Thanks this.

Never saw a Heartland day cab until Friday when I saw 6 brand new Kenworths in Columbus. Hope that means our new trucks aren’t far behind.

Is the Purina mill in Crete, NE always a cluster or did I just happen to be there at a bad time yesterday? Even with it being drop and hook, that was terrible. Mostly because everyone else decided to come at the same time as me.
-
I was only there once. It was a cluster then too. From start to finish.Still undecided Thanks this.

When I got there, trucks were backed up 4 deep into the suicide lane out on the street. Check in was easy enough. Was told my loaded was back in the loaded yard but I passed it dropped on the fence facing the wrong direction and with a truck parked in front of it waiting for his turn to live load.
So I get back to the yard. First empty space I find is super skinny but doable. So I start getting backed into it and can't get enough traction in the loose gravel to get it all the way back into the hole. So I ended up halfassing it and leaving it sticking out about 5 feet because I didn't really feel like trying to find another spot for it. Then I go back up to get my loaded. Driver is still sitting there in my way. Seemed annoyed that I asked him to move but wtf else was I supposed to do? Then I had to wait for another driver that decided to park his bobtail right in the middle of the turnaround area in front of the guard shack to finish his business in the porta potty so I could get turned around and scale.
Overall I give the experience zero stars.Still undecided, MIT and dwells40 Thank this. -
Sounds like my experience. Except add in the check in person failing to tell me an important piece of information even though I told her when I got there that I have never been there before.Still undecided Thanks this.
-
What did she not tell you?
-
If I remember correctly she didn't give me the code that I needed to punch into scale to check out.
I had to pull off, find a place to park, run back in and find out what the hell to do. Run back out and get back into line again after losing a few spots. Before doing that I asked another driver for the code but he said it was carrier specific or something along those lines. -
I think it is specific to each carrier. And maybe that incident is why it's in the QC directions now.MIT and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this.
