Some things are the same no matter where you are, but I sure don't miss the trailer tails and taking pictures of pre existing damage on trailers before I picked them up.

 

Yeah most of the last month or so before I left was as smooth as silk. Made it hard to leave, actually, but this move was something I had been planning since last fall.

In other news, it doesn't look like you guys are going to be delivering to Meijer in Tipp City for awhile. Got hit by a tornado.

 

I liked that run from Edwardsville to there.

 

Yeah that was a pretty good run. That's the only grocery store warehouse I didn't mind delivering to because no lumpers and the guy that was always working in the guard shack when I went there was nice.

 

Midwest finally moved that gate pole that was always getting knocked over. They moved it back about 5 feet and put it behind a curb.

 

Me too, even if I did have to wait until the next morning to deliver after showing up on time.

 

That was always broken when I was there.

 

Hauling lime in a dump bucket sucks, jsyk. I tried every way in the world to get it all to come out but still ended up shoveling and sweeping 100 pounds or so of it out of the trailer. Not to mention what I ended up wearing.

 

One of the things I didn't like about tanker work was the mess. Something always leaked, and I never found a way to keep from getting way dirtier than I did with dry van.

 

I don't really mind getting dirty for the most part. That lime is a different kind of dirty, though when you're walking around looking like you got in a fight with a sack of flour...and lost.
