Millis OTR journal

I'm not sure what was special about last night but I saw 3 people driving while watching TV.

 

I see that every once in awhile. Some guy will have tablet on dash or off to the side with a movie or some type of video on. Sitting in the passenger seat I’m always taking a peak into the truck we are passing.

 

I picked up a load from somewhere around Dallas. I think it might have been a Dial load but they loaded it on a Heartland trailer instead of a Millis trailer. I thought "Okay they knew about this" and hooked up to it and left with it. I start getting QC messages "You can't take that load on that trailer. Go back and have them move it to a Millis trailer.". Keep in mind that by this time I am already checked out with the load and it's in the shipper's system as enroute to the customer. I get back to the shipper with it and after a several hours long #### show, the shipper finally had me tell them that they weren't moving the load to another trailer and that they just had to deal with it.

I guess they were worried about people talking when they saw a Millis truck hooked to a Heartland trailer then.

 

Thursday, they said swing by La Crosse Kenworth. Just going to take a few minutes to to replace a sensor. Doesn’t look like I will get out of here until Tuesday………

 

Hope they put you up at the Americninn.
At least then you have Moxies bar and grill right there.

 

My truck was in the shop for a week last week, I know that feeling.

 

The hits keep on coming. Still in la Crosse. Have hometime next week. Then today wife sends me jury duty summons for end of March.

 

$950 in hotel charges so far. Would have been cheaper for me to rent a car and go home for the week. I know they will reimburse but this is ridiculous.

 

I stayed home when my truck was in the shop. I didn't make any money then, but I was home during the bad weather so it wasn't all bad.

 

How is it that you have been held so long, did the shop not have the sensor in stock, or did they find more problems?
