So funny story. I kicked my new trainee out after 4 days. We drove about 1700 miles together he drove 1000 of those miles and I picked up the rest.
From day one he told me he was going to ask for a new trainer because I don’t team drive. Which was funny because he couldn’t drive more than 4 hrs a day.
So we get a load going past Cville he wants to stop there because he needs the company car to run some errands. We spend the night, I get up the next morning to use the rest room. I come back out to the truck and all of his stuff is out of it except for his baseball caps.
I grab his caps go inside terminal hand then to him and say “ you forgot these”.
Walk back out to the truck sign him out of it, go on duty. He comes running out and asks if I’m kicking him out. I said I thought you packed your stuff to get out and he tells me he is just doing laundry.
Told him it just was not going to work out.
Lots more to the story just kept it brief for typing sake.

Yeah I wish other states would follow suit with more parking. Virginia and West Virginia in particular. I'm waiting to see if the rebuilt service plazas on the WV Turnpike will have more or less parking than before. I have spent many nights at the southern (Bluestone) plaza in the past because I could always count on finding parking there. There's even been a few times I've parked there when heading south.MIT Thanks this.

I have to wonder if they give you these guys because they know you're gonna post these stories on here about them and they like to read them.Still undecided Thanks this.

To be honest ever since they tripled the price of schooling and training to $7500 the quality of the trainees has gone downhill. I can’t figure that one out.Still undecided and dwells40 Thank this.

When did they do that? Last I heard they'd made the training free. Did that not last long or did I misunderstand what was going on?
-
Yeah they did make the training free, but everyone except for one person quit after they got their CDL. I believe they had 48 people get their license for free.dwells40 Thanks this.

Yo
You’d think it would be the opposite..smh…if millis/heartland is getting much of funded by govt training funding…resulting in not caring who they bring on being they’re getting there money regardless.. -
I didn't think this trainee was going to work for you MIT, it's better for you from the sound of it.
I team drive with my trainer towards the end and my trainer was a hard charger. Teaming wiped both of us out, I wouldn't recommend it for someone who only drives 4 hours a day.MIT Thanks this. -
Does training actually pay enough extra to deal with the extra bs?
-
Not really. I don’t know why I’m still doing it. It’s obviously not for the money because this past year I make more by myselfdwells40 and drvrtech77 Thank this.
