I never sat much there, and the one time I did Opie told me in Monday morning that the beer load weekend dispatch dispatched me on over the weekend was ready when it was dispatched and not later Monday like they told me.

Wow. There's lots of folks who'll commute more miles than that in a week.Still undecided, MIT and dwells40 Thank this.

We are getting close to capacity here. I would say and it’s just a guess over 40 trucks here. People keep coming in and not leaving.
Personally don’t understand it. The majority of the dropped loads deliver on Monday like mine. Why not just keep me on it, and let me find a better place to stay for the weekend.Nashville and Still undecided Thank this. -
The most impressive feat of endurance I have seen in a long time is happening in the truck parked caddy-corner to me. The dude has been playing call of duty for at least 14 hrs straight.

Well I’m done training. 3 more days and I will never ever have another person riding along in my truck.
There are so many things wrong with the training process. It begins with recruiting and cascades from there.
There is absolutely no quality control when it comes to trainees.
Met some decent people, made some friends. As far as I know none of my trainees have ever been in a serious accident. That’s good enough for me.Nashville, wulfman75, Old_n_gray and 3 others Thank this. -
There must be a story here. I'm impressed you could train at all, let alone keep training as long as you have. I bet we're whatever the Internet equivalent of all ears if you want to share/vent and understand if you don't.
dwells40 and Old_n_gray Thank this. -
This inquiring mind definitely wants to know!
How are your writing skills? Judging from how well written your posts are, they're pretty good. You should consider writing a book about all of this.Still undecided and dwells40 Thank this. -
Millis must be really short on drivers. I got a letter in the mail asking me to come back and telling me that I have been "preapproved for immediate rehire."
It also reminded me how much I made 1-2022 to 5-2022 which is when I left. TBH I'm not making any more money where I am now but I ain't constantly running on recaps and staying out for weeks at a time to make the same money now. I would actually have to read the manual to figure out how to see my recap hours on the ELDs we use because at least on the end dump side of things, we don't do that. This week was kind of slow, and I had something like 28 hours left on my 70 when I parked yesterday. It's usually around 20, and that is with me usually staying on line 4 for the entire time I'm at a shipper or receiver instead of just logging a few minutes for each to keep the DOT happy.
Even so, it's nice to know that they liked me enough where they'd want me back. I might actually consider it if it weren't for the changes that's happened since the buyout. I kind of miss OTR.JOHNQPUBLIC and MIT Thank this. -
I didn't get a letter like that, I guess they liked you better.
I'm so close to retiring now that I wouldn't want to do it on the rare occasion I miss OTR, and coming home after a bad day at work beats most days I had driving OTR. And I made a lot more driving locally too.
