Nah, shouldn't be too bad. The exam is covered by insurance, and lenses for a year will be about $200 depending on the brand, and insurance will cover some of that. This will be her first experience with contacts, that'll be the interesting part.

Consistently is a subjective term. I always get the home time I ask for, I just don't go home as often as some folks. That's by choice. And occasionally I can slide home for the night during a run. I'm more than happy with my home time situation here.

Funny you did this tonight, as I was planning on giving a 6month (a little late) review of my miles, pay, etc since I came back. Give me a few and I'll give my numbers from May 1st thru Oct 31.

Home time with Millis is never an issue. Want to be home every weekend? They have regional that can do that. Or OTR can get you home pretty much every other weekend or if you want to run months on end you can do that. As long as you put in your hometime request on thr Qualcomm 7 days in advance they will get you home guaranteed.

Ok I came back to Millis on May 3rd of this year. I took 10 days off unpaid as I had no vacation at the end of Aug because I bought a house and needed to move etc. Thats something else bout Millis. Ive heard other companies if you take off so many days you have to turn truck in etc...I was off 10 days with truck parked in my drive and nothing was said about it, or the fact I had no vacation.

So from May 3rd thru Oct 31st I ran 69,196 miles. Thats an average of 11,532 miles a month. If I'd not been off those 10 days Id been over 70k miles in 6 months. I run 2.5wks out and then take at least 4 full days off and usually its 5. Get home Thursday afternoon amd dont go back out till Tuesday Morning. Thats about a 2700mile avg. My go home weeks bring my avg down drastically. Basically my month is usually 3300, 3300, 1500, 3300 or somewhere close to there. Maybe a 3700mile week followed by a 3000 but you get the point.
In those 6 months I made $30,093.90 so basically on pace for over $60,000. I pay child support for 3 kids, and Opie knows this. So basically my 3300mile weeks are the equivalent to you guys running 2700 a week. Id love to not HAVE to get 3300+miles to bring home a good paycheck but I have to because on my go home weeks of those 12-1500mile weeks, Im lucky to NET $200 in my account. Some people would say Im an idiot for doing this job and bringing home $200 on my go home weeks, but its a far cry from when I was working as a machinist bringing home $200 in a 40hr work week. So theres my totals. Is it the best? I doubt it, but for the hometime I take, and all the other good that Millis has to offer Im very content. Granted next years numbers are going to look much bigger as I plan on having a student for 3/4 of the yr which is a considerable bump in pay. Def not only reason Im training but it definitely helps offset my deductions.

Also I hate the whole how many miles does this company average etc etc. The problem with averages is its just that, an average. You have you bottom feeders who dont want to run here or there or dont use their clock etc, and you've got your guys that run 8weeks out, never slowing down. So its up to YOU to decide what kind of driver you'r going to be. I talked to a regional guy yday and I asked him how his miles were....his response was he'd ran 95,000 miles this yr and he said he was perfectly content with that. Put that in perspective, Ive ran 87,000 in 7.5 months, but he was happy and more power to him. Id be starving and broke off those miles lol but he was an older guy who Im guessing has put in his time, and doesnt need to run hard anymore. Im jealous lol. 13 more years, and I'll be there, as my kids will be 18 lmao
