I'd thank this multiple times if I could. I'd love to attend every single class where students are told they have to save receipts if they don't select the per diem plan. It's so far off from the truth that even the memory of it makes me angry. Luckily for me I stuck with my core knowledge previous to trucking. Doggonit man. I am hoping that this garbage ends at some point. Why do companies offer options that create confusion and breed contempt upon realization? Just offer a pay plan that is the same for everyone and eliminate the creepy vibe.

I need to clarify my statement to @FalconsFan21 here. The 24k deduction he is referring to is for married filing jointly. That's a whole different animal than most folks. I love my wife with a ferocity that can move mountains. But I wont even have a joint checking account with her, much less joint taxes. Again, sorry if this offends anyone. I just have a smarter accountant than that. I've had my taxes done by a professional for a very long time. Always married and separate. So, my standard deduction will be 12k not 24.

On a bright note... Congratulations to Cleveland for their perfect season. I'm 100% surprised that they didn't get a win. It would have been a very Pittsburgh thing to do if they had lost. But, YAY FOR CLEVELAND!

Holy moley. This place is so big that there is a shuttle bus running drivers back and forth between their truck and the store. Mind blown. Ok, that's my last thought for the night. I think I've ruffled enough feathers for one day. Hope I didn't offend anyone. See y'all tomorrow night.

Sorry, I was just watching my Buffalo Bills get into the post season for the first time this century!. Glad to see the Steelers didn't end up being the only team to lose to Cleveland. Plus I did not want to give any help to the Patriots if Pittsburgh losing would have benefited them.

I'd be glad to share a beer with you. Next time you are going to have some down time in or near the Weedsport terminal I'll come by and we will go have one.

Not sure how you know who I am (not saying you don't), send me a private message and I'll see if you're right! Even if you aren't we can still drink a beer....

I have spent a lot of time researching this industry. Before choosing Millis and since I started working. I also made sure I knew all about per diem before the point where I was going to have to make my choice. Including talking to my tax guy.

Like you, I am a big Millis cheerleader too. It is a great company and I only left for a local job. I have actually thought about going back recently. There are downfalls to local jobs for sure. For one thing, they run you into the dirt most of the time where with OTR you have days like you are having this weekend. I loved long runs with lots of time on them. No pressure, you can actually enjoy the drive.

I am still at the company I left Millis for but have been thinking of my options, including getting into the owner op / leasing op game. I'm pretty sure I have not found my place yet.

Well, color me embarrassed. While reading your post, I just realized you aren't the same person I was thinking of. However, I did know that you worked here before. And you betcha, I'll holler at ya if I end up in Weedsport for the night. I'd love to meet one of the TTR vets :) The first one is on me.

Ok, I know who I was thinking of. I'm betting you might know him, at least by his handle here. I'll shoot you a pm. You still running local?
