Wassup Truckerland. I made it to Trenton, wasn't sure if that was gonna happen or not. When I went to sleep, the area I was in was supposed to get a "dusting". I think that the weather guy nees to update his definition. There was definitely more snow than I was expecting. It wasn't awful but it kept me at 35-45 for a while. About an hour down the road, there were highway signs announcing that 80 was completely closed about 30 miles ahead. Multiple vehicle accident, and there was at least one semi involved. Awesome. So I got myself to a truck stop and planned myself a detour. Unfortunately, detours in the mountains of Pennsylvania are neither direct or easy. The roads were 2 lane roads, and not very well plowed. 25 mile detour at 25mph with my flashers on. I pissed a lot of cars off, I'm sure, but thankfully I made it through without a problem. Once I made it back to 80, the roads were significantly better. Once I got to Ohio, the roads were mostly dry. What a relief. If they had been like the first part of my journey I would have run out of my hours before I made it here. All's well that ends well. I got my truck checked in for service but they are light on staff. So I told them morning was fine with me. I'm going to sleep like no man has slept before. Hell I won't even need an alarm to get my truck in when they open. Man I'm happy with how this worked out. I'm gonna hit the store, clean the truck a bit, grab some Gold Star, and grab a shower. Then, the work begins in the morning. I've got a long list of things to accomplish, but now I have time to get it all done. And I'll have a fresh 70 to work with. Doesn't get much better than that. Hope you guys had a good day out there. As always, be safe out there. Keep the rubber side down and check your pins. Until tomorrow, peace y'all.

What do you mean by "looks like getting your CDL here will be auomatic only"? You referring to at the Burleson school? And the 20,000 miles is news to me, but nothing would surprise me.Steelersjunkie and Shock Therapy Thank this.

Was told they are making you test in the OTR trainers truck, which is an automatic.
The class teacher is trying to get us up to Wisconsin to test out in his truck hopefully.
I can’t tell you that 20k will be required, only that it’s a possibility...Shock Therapy Thanks this. -
Ya even if the instuctor doesn't get you up there to Wisc its still an option even once on trainers truck. If don't care bout the restriction no big deal, but if you do there are ways around itFalconsFan21, Aamcotrans and Shock Therapy Thank this.

Greg has been talking about that for a while now. When I was still in Perry's truck there was a pretty bad accident here in Trenton. The driver was new, he just got his truck very recently. We were in Greg's office and I heard him say that he was pushing for 20k because of that accident. That was over a year ago.FalconsFan21 and Shock Therapy Thank this.

I’d prefer not to have the restriction, however, I really don’t see myself opting for a manual for any reason.
Even if I were to buy a truck in the next few years, it would most likely be an auto.Steelersjunkie and Shock Therapy Thank this. -
Honestly, the way these students are paid here now, there should be absolutely no hurry to need to get in your own truck. Granted living with your trainer sucks, but you can make more $ on a trainers truck now than you will when you go solo. Its hard to get new guys to understand that as most of them think "15k miles and I'm free" but they fail to realize that 15k is just a guideline. If I dont say you're ready at 15k, then you stay until I do. My 1st student had a hard time understanding that early on. Just cuz you have 15k doesn't really mean #### to me loldhellmer, Airmech, FalconsFan21 and 4 others Thank this.

Lol, Once you go through basic training, 6 months of AIT, another 6 weeks of recovery school, you soon realize that you’re tired of living in a closet with other people...
It’s going to take however long it takes, and that’s fine, however, it’s hard for me to settle on mediocrity. Particularly when it pertains to myself.FalconsFan21, Shock Therapy and Steelersjunkie Thank this.
