No not really. Phone use is allowed but strictly blue tooth only. No handling the phone and definitely no texting. As far as drinking coffee or eating your salty dog from the roller at your local Pilot, just keep your eyes on the road and continue to pay attention to what is going on. Do not get distracted by it.

It kind of sounds worse than it is. While it can be used to jam you up (think non blue tooth phone use and for sure texting), it is mostly used to look for patterns of constantly doing unsafe things and to coach you to change your behavior.

It really all depends on the company. There are companies out there that you will get in trouble for eating etc while driving. Thankfully Millis isnt one of them, but its definitely something to find out before you go to work for someone with cameras.

Here's the thing.... you'll get used to what sets it off and when you need to worry. What Millis doesn't want to see is you holding a phone, or a tablet, or doing something that is an obvious distraction. So if your camera goes off because you weren't paying attention to your surroundings and it's obvious that you were distracted, that'll be a problem with them. Otherwise just read the road, read the traffic, and react accordingly. If one of my podcasts end and I'm in heavy traffic, no way I'm starting another one. I just wait til things calm down a little bit then hit play. Everything needs to be set up for a one-touch operation, that's what the law states. As far as my phone goes, I have Google assistant set up so that all I have to do is voice commands to make phone calls or send a message. It's all completely hands free.

Although I will admit that even though Google is handy, I always feel like an idiot when I have to use the wake-up command. "Okay Google" sounds so dumb. I need to figure out how to change it.

Mine is a 2016 and it does it at 1.8 if you don’t increase the distance within a couple of seconds :(

Most of the time it stops working like yours. Twice it has jammed on the brakes. Scary to say the least.
