Wassup Truckerland. Today I'm in Cartersville. Again. And by the way I'll be here until tomorrow afternoon. So please feel free to hit me up if you're gonna be at the terminal. This is gong to be the hardest post I've ever done, and a very emotional one. I just turned my truck in about an hour ago. I grabbed my last cup of free coffee from the drivers lounge and walked back to my hotel room. I've walked that walk many times since I've been at Millis, but those were always happy walks. This time it was so depressing that tears were threatening to exit. Walking away from the terminal was absolutely heart-breaking. The only bright spot was that I got to see @Goobr54 again before I left. What a great guy, definitely going to be keeping in touch with him. For the first time in a very long time, I am now unemployed. It's temporary of course, but it feels weird. Just a lonely guy sitting alone in a hotel room with a mountain of crap from my truck. It's unbelievable how much stuff I accumulated in such a relatively short span of time. It took forever to get it all out.And just when I though I got it all, I'd find something else that was tucked away in a drawer or cubbie. I know one thing, I am gonna make sure that my next truck is much more streamlined. There is absolutely no need to have this much stuff. Plus, I won't be staying out as long when I run, so that'll help. I'd like to take a few minutes to thank everyone. Thank you to everyone at Black River Falls. Everyone there has been such a pleasure to deal with. Extra special thanks to Jeri Lynn (my payroll lady) for always being so nice. If her looks match her attitude, she must be an absolute stunner. Thanks to Opie of course who always got me home when I asked and did such a top rate job of keeping me moving and keeping my bills paid. And thanks to Diane in the log department. I always appreciated how kind and patient she was with me. I spent a little time on the phone with her yesterday, and she is just delightful. I also had a conversation with Reid in personnel. I've met him once and had several phone conversations with him, that's an awesome guy right there. Always in a good mood, always positive. It's infectious. Thanks of course to everyone I've met here. This place is a different kind of animal. I've never experienced a work environment like this in my life. The day will never come where I forget where I started. It feels like a million years ago even though it's only been 20 months. I am so grateful for the life education I received as a result of my employment at Millis. I know it may sound corny, but this place and this job have really changed who I am as a person. I wish the best for the future of the company, and for all who come here to begin a new career. I don't know what's coming, but I know that because of this place I'm prepared to handle it. It'll be a lot more work, I know that. I'm gonna have to learn some new time habits, because of the extra details that will now come with my loads. And handling every detail of the truck to boot. No more mechanics at a terminal to handle my issues. It's all on me. It's a little scary now that it's actually happening. But I'm sure that just like everything else in life, it'll get easier in time. I need to shut up and walk away from this laptop, or I'll just sit here and ramble all day. Thanks, Millis. I loved it here, and I'm going to miss you. Be safe out there, everyone. Keep the rubber side down, and check your pins. See y'all out on the road.

I'm really hoping that @FalconsFan21 and @Goobr54 and @keen98 keep this thread rolling, because it's a fantastic way for folks to connect to Millis drivers and get questions answered. I'd hate to see it die.FalconsFan21, Farmer54, Waterboy334 and 1 other person Thank this.

Yes, picking up my truck in a few days
FalconsFan21, Lonesome and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
One of my best friends in life is a lawyer. He doesn't get the bond. Walking away from my truck today was like walking away from a spouse that you just divorced. Actually, I've done that, and divorce hurt less. Dam it I already miss this place
JoshG210, FalconsFan21, MACK E-6 and 2 others Thank this.
