I totally agree with what you've said, but the flip side I see to is also that in a short time the drivers that come and make will think nothing of it.

As you and I came in on elogs, it was all we knew. I don't know about you but I've stood in more then one yard listening to a guy with way more experience and years under his belt I will ever have ##### about how elogs have cut him off at the ankles all the time thinking to myself something along the line of WTF is he talking about, I don't have trouble running my 3000-3200 a week with them. But it was all I knew so there was no adjustment to the lack of fudging that maybe could have been done.

I figure it's going to be something similar with this. In a couple years when all the trucks have been turned over and the whole fleet is set up as the new trucks are now everyone will come in and it will be all they know so it won't be such a big thing to them as it is to us.

 

Lol I was just assuming elogs because I was in a 19' truck and talking to others with 19' trucks that's what they where saying. I liked the safety stuff on the 19' trucks lol, I didn't mind seeing my following distance and the speed of the vehicle in front of me. I think it works as a great training device too. But I hope yall all are having a safe week and getting those miles!

Training device that doesnt always act and respond properly like its supposed to. When Im hauling 47,000lbs of Budweiser Id really like to have full control of my truck at all times and not be throttled down in speed because the "speed limit identifier" spotted a 25mph on ramp sign while I am traveling at 70mph down the interstate....or pick up schoop zone signs at 1 30am, or construction zones speeds that are only active when flashing....guess what the great technology cant pick up....those flashing lights so it thinks you're speeding through a work zone. Dont put stuff on trucks that arent 100% reliable when it comes to control of the truck.

 

I never had it throttle me down, it would just beep at you and remind what the speed is. But who knows really, I see yalls point and why yall feel the way you do so I respect that.

 

I drove a 2018 and when it thought you were over 9mph i believe it would quickly throttle me back. On 90 in Chicago in traffic picked up a 20mph ramp...boom throttled down...
Like I've said before I understand Millis wanting to be able to control new drivers. But have some trust in their experienced guys. They trust me to train new drivers, but they dont trust me to drive the truck without all the extra safety features??

 

From my conversations with @Goobr54 you are correct. It will chop the throttle for a short time. If I remember correctly he said it wasn't for a huge amount of time, just long enough to screw you over and really piss you off.

 

Lol. No it will cut the acceleration in the new trucks.

 

Ya I understand what you're saying, nobody likes to be under someone's thumb. There should be a level in trust with employers and employees, you'd think that a company like Millis would listen to there drivers about these issues, so I can see where some of yalls frustration comes from.
