Is that the dock at the very end. As they say, "your own personal dock"?

 

Yeah the one at the end over by where the tankers come unload.

 

That does sound kind of convoluted, but after following it on Google Maps it makes perfect sense. It also looks like, in order to head back east on 94, you can follow Woodlawn back to the S. Doty frontage road on the other side of 94, follow Doty down past the Walmart to 111th Street, hang a left on 111th and it'll take you to 94.

I've heard horror stories about Chicago. Now I'm starting to understand why.

When I went to WestRock I came from Rockford, and like a dummy I took 90 right through the middle of Chicago to get to 94 instead of doing the sensible thing and coming down 294. Lesson learned.

 

Yeah, sorry I couldn't explain it better, but at least it sounds like my brain was still fairly accurate, I was working off of memory.

 

And look on the bright side. Now that you know a decent way to get there you'll never have to go back there again
