I'm just curious... is Millis switching their trailers over to duals as well? I had an experience today that will forever be my all-time greatest argument in favor of them.

Is that also the case with going from Waco to points east on I20? I just had a glass load from there to Albany, and the GPS took me along 2-lane back roads (some with 75 MPH speed limits!) almost all the way out to the Louisiana state line before it got me to 20. Should I have just gone up 35E? -
Save the hassle and the time, especially in the crappy weather. Eat the miles.
Can't help with the Texas part, sorry.Steelersjunkie Thanks this. -

It's funny you mention those cities. My very first solo load was to that beer distributor in Waldorf, MD. First thing in the morning too. I ended up sleeping at that sorry excuse for a rest area on I66 and getting up early to take it in. Then I saw that there was a Walmart right down the street that apparently allows overnight truck parking. Oh well. You live and learn, I guess.
Every time I drive in Atlanta I get on the CB and rant about how stupid I am. Why? Because I lived there for almost a decade. Mostly loved it but got tired of the crime and more relevantly, the traffic. After the company I was working for went kaput, I decided it was time to be closer to family. Then I decided to try this truck driving thing and go to work for a company that has a lot of freight around Atlanta. Stupid, stupid me.
It took me FOUR hours to get from the Pilot in Jackson, GA to Cartersville last week. When I left Albany I had enough hours to make it to Knoxville. I had planned on spending the night at the Flying J. By the time Atlanta traffic was finished trashing my clock, I had just enough time to make it to Cville.Steelersjunkie Thanks this.
