I have no problem being a team player. I guess my biggest thing is the only way we are going to get guys to not say "#### it Im not wasting my time and losing $ by getting it fixed" is trying to make the process as easy on the driver as possible. Or heaven forbid...actually hold the driver accountable that dropped the trailer, but thats never going to happen...If the problem is within a so many mile radius of s terminal then let the driver drop the trailer and let the shop deal with it. They are on hourly pay we aren't. We just pulled a 13hr day starting our day in Poynette WI and ending it 3 miles inside the IL border at the Loves in Roscoe...and that was 1 live unload (40mins) 2 drop and hooks and 1 live load (35mins)....talk about a waste of a day lol. Thank god I have hometime for Fri cuz I can tell Im getting irritated. Im starting to think I like winter better than summer out here. Traffic, construction, and accidents galore lately. 39/90 going into WI on a weekend during the day is just ridiculous.

I'm here to tell you, accountability ain't gonna happen. I haven't seen a company yet that actually uses the technology they possess to enforce responsibility. It's a shame. No matter what company you haul for, it would be nice to know that your equipment is both safe and legal. But even with the most technologically advanced companies out there, they either can't or don't bother to track previous drivers. If you ask me, someone's falling asleep on the job. And again, that's EVERY company, mine included. It's ridiculous. It breeds apathy.

I'll have to go with Michael and Tim's thoughts on this one. Yep, most drivers would have left the trailer as is. You didn't, I wouldn't and I think most of the drivers here wouldn't.

I went to Miller in Ft Worth once to pick up a preloaded trailer. The inspection had expired 1.5 years earlier and there were literally no brakes. No pad linings on any wheel. I could not f"ing believe it and was furious. Now how many hands had that trailer passed thru in the 1.5 years it had rolled around uninspected? Not to mention the brake issue.

This was in the early afternoon and I had a couple hours on my clock. So it screwed me from getting anywhere that day. The silver lining was I had a nice dinner courteous of the Burleson Terminal company car, slept like a baby in the quiet terminal yard and went thru the Dallas area early the next morning like a hot knife thru butter.

Regardless of what was the best way to handle it, (you doing what you did or the shop coming out), you did the right thing and didn't leave the mess for someone else. Unfortunately most would have left the mess and bolted without any accountability.

Yea thats ridiculous lol i won't leave crap for other drivers, and usually getting it fixed I understand, but in my situation being so close to a terminal I know its cheaper for Millis to pay their own mechanics the 3 hr hourly rate it would've been than to take it to a Pomps. Our mechanics make under $20 an hr Im sure so $60 + $10 in fuel? Im guessing, and maybe I'm completely wrong, but I highly doubt you are walking into an outside shop and getting a tire replaced for $70....

Oh well done and over with and headed for Atlanta on a 2 stop mail load. We will be in CVille between 5-6pm, anyone else?

I'm headed to southern GA for the 2nd time in a week. This time to Douglas. I managed to make it in and out of GA last time without seeing Atlanta. Something tells me I won't be so lucky this time.
