I spent the night in Richfield last night. Woke up and saw an alert on my phone for flooding in southern Wisconsin. I'm glad it didn't affect my route any. I woke up cranky lthis morning as it was. That wouldn't have helped any. Instead I had to deal with several traffic back-ups on 294.

Speaking of 294, while on my way to Milwaukee yesterday, I saw at least six Millis trucks bobtailing on 94 and 294 toward Chicago. Anybody know what that was about I'm seeing 19-series trailers now, so I'm wondering if they going to Terre Haute.

Speaking of new trailers: Contrary to what I was told previously, 19-series trailers still have super singles. Poop.

Now I'm prepping for something new: A multi-stop load and a grand tour of Pennsyltucky, courtesy of our friends at John Deere Horicon Works.

I was told they already ordered them and couldn’t change or something like that.
They suppose to get rid of them but there was 100 trailers down there when I went and got one. Highest number I seen was 19099.
With 100 new trailers, maybe next years are going to be ordered duals.

Someone with more runs could probably tell you better but if this is your first John Deere run my experience was trip plan, trip plan, then trip plan some more.

Use the request directions macro for every stop first thing and read thru each one before it becomes your next stop.

Look at each place on Google maps and try to plan your entrance/exit to the parking lot itself.

CALL each place (many won't be aware you are coming at all) tell them who you are, who you drive for, what you are driving, what you are delivering. Ask them which driveway (if they have more then 1) you should enter by. Also, quickly tell them the directions you have to get there and ask them to verify, if they can, that it's a good way in.

If you catch Ag centers it probably will be no big deal bit #### near all the places I went to were mom and pop set ups in areas 53 foot trailers didn't really belong, and most places didn't even have an actual dock (backed up to a hill at the side of a lot once to unload, that was kind of interesting)A few times the person at the dealer heard the directions I had and gave me a different way because they knew the local roads and had I gone the GPS way they said I would have had big issues even though it was a suppose to be a truck route.

Also, verify their hours and if you get there earlier will you be able to get into the lot and wait. Twice the Qualcomm said a place opened at 7am, got there to find they didn't open until 8 and there was a gate across entrance and nowhere along road to pull off and park in an area I was already fairly lost in, not good times.

Don't mean to make it sound harder then it is, but the runs I caught were mostly places only a straight truck should go, I learned fast to get as much info as I could from the folks where I was delivering to.

This is great advice. Some of those John Deere runs get hairy. Worst one I had, my last stop was in White Plains NY. Having zero knowledge of NY, I didn't realize that White Plains might as well be part of the Burroughs. That was dicey to say the least.
