Hammer. Crow bar. Adjustable wrench. Vise grips. Wire cutters. I just ordered a set of heavy-duty cable cutters to keep in the truck for those dang cable seals. I can't ever seem to cut them with wire cutters and bolt cutters don't work too well either. Others can chime in with their recs.

Besides the others mentioned previously, I have a small socket set in my truck. Nothing special, just a small set for unseen emergencies. And I have a pair of sheet metal sheers that have come in pretty handy. A knife is a must. I have one of those screwdrivers that has both phillips and flat, I definitely consider that a must. I have other items on my truck as well for hazmat loads, but those won't apply to your time at Millis :)

It's nice to know I'm not the only person that feels that way. I'm turning into a curmudgeon apparently. When I'm out of my truck and grabbing a meal or a beer, I'll typically sit as far away as possible from drivers. I have occasionally met a cool person out there. But for the most part, I'm a trucker that can't stand other truckers.

As much as I dislike trucking in Texas, there is an upside to it if you're a local. There are a ton of spots to park that you won't find on Trucker Path. My best suggestion would be to simply drive around your home town and keep your eyes peeled for parked trucks. Chances are very good that you'll have something relatively close. Some guys make arrangements with local businesses that have roomy lots, like truck repair places or locally owned stores and the like. I have a buddy that parks his ride at a local church around the corner from his house. Like he told me, you're never gonna find a church that won't take money if offered  Unfortunately for me, the only thing around is my TA. it is what it is. Thankfully it's a tax write off. You can also do a Google search for staging lots in your area. Those are nice if you can find one at a good price. Usually they charge a flat fee per month. The nice thing about those places is that you can leave your car there while you're out on the road. That way it's waiting for you when you get back.
