Thing about beer is that even though it's not particularly high value, I'm sure it's very prone to theft.

I was recently sent home with a beer load and I stressed over it the whole time. I'm sure some of the local college kids, or my own son, would have had Party City if they'd known that trailer had beer in it.

Trust me when I tell you.... everyone out there knows that Millis hauls a #### ton of beer. It's very common knowledge among truckers. I never locked a beer load, and never had a problem. I've had my pins pulled, but never had any theft scares. Millis doesn't haul high security loads. It's all low level freight. Nobody cares about what's on those trailers, believe me. It's not an insult, but it is the truth

I'm glad we don't. To be honest. I know some companies like Abilene haul loads where the driver is prohibited from leaving the vehicle at all, even for fuel. Doesn't sound like a good time.

I have to ask, because of your username: Do we have another kilt-wearer among us? I have one of mine in the truck but haven't had the nerve to wear it while driving yet. These judgemental drivers are worse gossips than a bunch of women in a sewing circle, and I'm really not feeling like becoming a trucking meme because I'm wearing a man-skirt.

My question revolves around the schooling and employment. For those that attend training with Millis and CDL and graduate are they guaranteed the job or is it just as likely as other applicants who already have a CDL?

I have Scottish and English roots, but my people have been on this continent since before the Revolutionary War so I'm about as American as they come without being a Native American. Definitely more American than Scottish.

If you go thru/pass Millis schooling, state testing to get your CDL, time in truck with a trainer (15,000 miles minimum) they assign you your own truck and you have a job with Millis.
