I can't remember where I was but I recently saw a Millis truck pulling a Koch trailer and was wondering why. Now I know.

I wondered the same thing when I was with Millis. That was a head-scratcher. Kinda like the load I'm hauling now. It's in a Landstar trailer. Picked it up at an Averitt terminal (it was sitting there pre-loaded) and it delivers to a LandAir terminal. I don't get it, but I guess I don't have to. As much as I see those trucks driving down the road, I'm surprised they need help. Guaranteed I'm making a boatload more than they are. This isn't a long run, but the money is pretty insane.

Anyone know how that new Performance Pay Program Millis is instituting works? I went to the website and I see the across the board raises but there is no explanation for the performance pay other than it can be "Up to" and additional .04 per mile

Here's a head-scratcher for you: When I was with my trainer he was talking to one of his buddies (another Millis driver) on the phone who was hooked to a JB Hunt trailer. I never got an explanation as to why, but the buddy seemed to think it was bizarre.Steelersjunkie Thanks this.

How many of you guys have had to travel on PA-28 north of Kitanning? It's beautiful country, but I hate it in a truck. Way too curvy and hilly for me.
I just took a load of glass from Atlanta to Brookville, and both the QC and the GPS wanted me to take PA-28 from Pittsburgh up to Brookville instead of going on up to I-80 and taking it east. Well, I noped right out of that and stayed on the interstate. It's only around 30 miles further, and it seems faster even though it's really not.
Well what do you know? After I sent in my empty call, my reload was in Butler. So I ended up having to travel it anyhow. In the dark and the rain. At least I was empty. -
Maybe he was just docking it for the guy

I can answer the Landstar Averitt question. Averitt uses Landstar to haul some of our line haul, LandAir is our partner carrier in the northeast.Steelersjunkie, Suspect Zero and OnTheLevel357 Thank this.

Unfortunately no we haven't been told yet what the performance pay is yet. Just that we were getting a .03cpm base pay rate increase and we'd be told soon what the performance pay meant. The 1st message we got bout it said "miles bonus" so it may be just an additional 1cpm to each miles threshold on per diem pay but idk yet. Whennwe find out I'll post it here.Suspect Zero and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this.

Thanks for the explanation! I had another load like this when I first started here. It feels bizarre being at another company's terminal lol. There was a driver there who had clearly never been to that terminal before. I was getting some very confused looks from him when I got out of my truck. I wanted to walk up to him and say "trust me buddy, this is weird for me too."

As much as I can get away with it, I try to completely avoid PA. Pennsylvania is the reason why you need to buy a new atlas every year because the CMV restrictions are constantly changing. Watch yourself over there. They've changed some of their state routes to a 10 ton limit. I guess they got tired of fixing the roads. I have a run I take occasionally that picks up in Emporium and St. Mary's, delivers in western Ohio. From St. Mary's, I have to take 255 down to 80. Not a fun road, to say the least. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that road gets restricted in the future.
