I'm sitting in the Cedar Springs truck parking area right now, coincidentally enough, with 8 giant rolls of fiberboard going to Gilster Mary Lee in Centralia again. Except Pat is having me drop them in Cartersville. I'm a little nervous about this load because there's no CAT scales between here and the chicken house on I85. Judging from my suspension load gauge I should be okay but I've never ran by a scalehouse with a 40k+ load without first CAT scaling it.

Will the scalehouse here where they weigh inbound logs let me use them to axle out? I've not ever seen an outbound load go through there.

I did not scale out before I left Cedar Springs so don't know, but ask, the most they can say is no.

 

Id tell you guys bout our day but Im really not sure you'd believe me lol. 3 years out here and Im not sure I've seen a more cluster#### ridiculous horrible fn #### show as today....but what else to be expected when Opie is on vacation right?

 

No more really needs to be said after the vacation part. I wasn't there to long, and personally I liked everyone I dealt with, but it only took 1 time before realizing I needed to take my home time when Opie took his vacation, if for no other reason then to save my sanity.

 

Yup Im done trying. When hes off Im just staying home. We got sent to CVille to drop a load and was told 2 days ago we'd have a Plano load to pick up in Calhoun GA and then drop in Plano and go home so I can take my kid to a DR appt. We get to CVille last night at 1 30am. Pull in and go to sleep till 7am est, drop trailer hit ready for dispatch and get sent a 2 stop load goimg to Romeoville...1st issue of the day. I ask bout my Plano load and they have no idea what I'm talking bout. 30mins later get sent a diff Plano load picking up from a Mohawk in Dalton. Ok cool. Follow address on load info and it takes us to a no outlet fn road. We get that fixed and eventually find where we going. Sit in the dock for ovwr 2.5hrs when we suddenly get a msg saying this load has had an extra pickup added to it...1st off we are already being loaded and they are bout done, and have it loaded with rolls front to back...2nd off the other pickup is 30miles away...THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION we are headed...so i call dispatch and have a few words with them and we head to our other pickup....get there get checked in I ask her how many rolls are you putting on? She says "oh they arent rolls its 11 pallets"....uhhh well we have rolls to the door and they have no carpet loading forklift to move them....notify dispatch and the lady calls the person who scheduled this ####...aftwr hour there guy comes out says you can leave we cant do anything with you...i notify dispatch and get told go.find somewhere to park while we figure out what were going to do....we go up to ex 328 10miles up the road...pull in and get message saying take load to CVille at ex 296 cuz they going to put us on a diff Plano load now....as student turns in truck stop to head towards exit he hits a truck trying to squeeze by us....and then before i can msg safety we get another msg saying nvm proceed to final now.....by this time hits 3pm so we hit traffic in Chatty, and traffic in Nashville....

So how was everyone elses day??

 

I think we got your Plano load. We ran around to 3 different pickups this afternoon including your 11 pallets. Chatworth, Calhoun and Dalton. Hope your student isn’t shook up about it he is a good guy and was definitely the best of us coming out of the Richfield class. Maybe see you guys in Plano tomorrow.

 

Ya hes been doing good, just had a brain fart. It happens. Noone was hurt not that big of deal really. We are dropping ours in Streator so I can get home in time for kids dr appt....howd you like that right turn into the customer for those 11 pallets? Lol
