A lot of guys have that issue when hauling bulk. The weight is way too evenly distributed in the trailer. If the load weight could somehow be pushed forward in the trailer, that would help you out on your steers. Or, move the 5th wheel mounts a little closer to the front. It's all about physics out here. If I was building those trailers I'd put a hollow spot at the back of the trailer, like 4 foot or so. That way the load works better for your drives.

Have the 5th wheel moved up far as I dare already, any further and I might hit the piping on some trailers during tight turns. The older truck was better but it had a little more then a 2 foot longer wheelbase.
A few of the trailers we have (the ones that ride with a lower center of gravity I mentioned) I can get a little more on the steers, they are the same size in capacity but are 4 feet longer bridge. -
It would make a lot more sense to me if they just put your freight in super sacks and loaded it in dry vans. But I'm sure it's more economical the way the do it. I don't see how its possible, but it must be.Last edited: Dec 13, 2018

I just finished a bunch of crap that's been building up and I've been too lazy to do. I'm exhausted but I just caught a killer break from a really cool broker. What a nice human being. I can keep rolling and keep making money but tomorrow I'm gonna get some much needed sleep, and the day after as well. I missed out on a load I wanted for Saturday but this one works out better in the long run. I'm extremely grateful for him right now. He covered my f-up on time. And oh, how I have missed sleep. Part of my happy mood has to do with Christmas coming. I never really cared before about this holiday, but I had a major life change in 2012 that changed my perspective on a lot of things and Christmas that year was one of the most memorable of my life. As it approaches this year, I hope life is finding all of my Millis family doing well. I'm very happy to be, at least remotely, still part of the tribe. Love you guys, hope you're getting ready to settle in and enjoy the holidays with your family. I hate the friggin music, but I love the feeling. Happy (early) Holidays guys
Dam I love this time of year. Except for the wretched music lol.
dwells40 Thanks this. -
For the first time since I started this adventure, i woke up this morning feeling like an actual truck driver. Crazy week, I can say trainer must have heard my pleas because all week I have done all the backing. Pretty much have done all the driving also. Opened up the week with 3, 600 plus mile days.
Also think my future DM is the bomb. He has been running us like crazy this week. Sitting at 2700 this morning and he came through with 2 800 mile routes through Monday. Which is great,
I have to have surgery on the 21st and will be out till the new year. Sort of sucks taking a break right in middle of training but I found out I needed surgery the Friday before school started in Richfield. Can’t push it off any longer so it is what it is.
Just want to post something good I am not a complainer. Still happy as can be with my choice of Millis.
@keen98 tell Dave the guy from Ohio says congratulations and hope to run into him someday.Farmer54, Steelersjunkie and Suspect Zero Thank this. -
That is the nice thing about those. I don't think I've ever delivered them anywhere where it took very long for them to unload me.Farmer54, Steelersjunkie and MIT Thank this.

Hooked up to a load at our favorite brewery in Ft. Worth. Could tell it wasnt going to be right from the suspension gauge. So I truck on down to the Love's. 1500 over on the drives. Load was supposed to have 5 bulkheads, has 2. Fun times.

Were you able to make the load right by sliding your tandems? 1500 isn't too awful.

The load out of Cedar Springs that sent me home was a funny coincidence because I know some guys that work at that GP place I delivered to. They always got me out super fast. Hell they even bumped me in line ahead of other drivers before. Gotta love that. I suppose I probably shoulda felt a little guilty about that, but it never happened

I had a pickup in hell today. Good lord man, never seen such a garbage facility. Had to leave my comfort zone and snag a load reallly close to Baltimore, so it doesn't surprise me that this place was so awful. I don't miss this place at all.
