Sup y'all. I mentioned in a previous post that I was going to the store while I was home to be my own Santa and buy myself a present. I'm posting this in case you are looking to downsize the amount of technology in you truck like I was. I simply had too much crap in here. Storage was an issue, as was setup time when I needed to download a document and print it out from my laptop. It was a laborious process and it got old. Not gonna lie, this new purchase was the result of an incredibly frustrating moment. I needed to download and print updated permits from Landstar and it took about 15 minutes. The result was an embarrassing child-like fit laced with profanity that would make a sailor blush. Part of that is the fact that my laptop was old, and a Dell on top of that. I've never been a Dell fan. Anywho... I gave away my laptop and printer to my son-in-law, and got a new printer that works right from my phone or my tablet. To my laptop I say Bye Felicia. Not gonna miss you. I'm getting it set up now, I'll update soon with the results. If it performs as I was told it would, this'll be one of the coolest gadgets I have. A must have for truckers, especially if you're an O/O.

 

Update number one (others will definitely follow). This thing is nuts! First let's start with the price and model. It's an HP Envy Photo 7155. I got it at Best Buy for $100. There was a lower model that will do almost everything that this one will for $60. But, this one has an enclosed paper tray. That may not sound like it's worth an extra $40, but trust me it matters. Storing paper and keeping it free from damage has been an issue in my truck. It was pretty easy to set it up and get it connected to my phone. And check this out... it does it's own updates everytime you connect it. And, it has its own email address. So I don't even have to receive a document to my phone. It can be sent directly to my printer from anyone! Dam this thing is cool. Works for Android and iOS for all you silly iPhone people
