Sooooo i wonder what the record is for fastest trainer to have a student removed from his truck? Think 5.5hrs of driving and bout 30hrs total on my truck is in the running? Ughh like I said I agree with @MIT trainers need paid more....

 

I had my new student tell me today " when I decided to get into this job I just figured it was like driving a car"..... yeahhhhhhhh

 

Haha the first time I got my CDL back in the 90s I think I thought pretty much the same thing. "Heck I can operate a farm tractor and I can drive my dad's 1 Ton. It can't be that mich different!" I don't think I had ever actually backed up a trailer before I started truck driving school unless it was a hay trailer and I don't remember doing it. Boy was I in for a surprise.

 

Found the receiving driveway on google. At least there is a sign that says receiving so I’m going for it.

 

Yeah, missing important things will suck, but I've been living on the other side of the planet from most of my family. The big change will be my wife and I doing separate jobs for the first time, but I'm looking forward to something different.

 

Yeah I used to travel a lot for work. Quit when my son turned 3 or so. He is now 16 and I put off saving for college for 16 years so here I am. He knows why I am doing what I am doing and wife 100% supports it. Don’t want him buried in student loans the rest of his life.

 

I hate waiting at customers who have no extra room for dispatch to send me on my way. I feel I’m the center if attention.
