Yeah according to the QC the gate is on 45th. From the satellite view it actually looks like you have plenty of room to maneuver once you get through the gate. Getting there doesn't seem *too* awful except of course it's downtown Chicago. QC notes say 94W to 47th Street exit, turn left, one mile then turn right on S. Halsted. Notes say that turn is tight but it doesn't really look it on the satellite view but now I know to watch it. Then turn left on 45th and first driveway on the right.
My main concern is that is Chicago, and all that entails. After seeing on the accident report where one of our drivers capped a trailer while trying to detour around a road closure while trying to get to Chi Bev, I'm concerned about that as well.
Addy is 4300 S Halsted.

Go to street view on Google maps and walk your route, look for signs. Had to do that on a load going to the twin cities. All exits I needed were closed for construction and had to go through downtown Minneapolis. Took a minute, but found a way in.JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this.

Was at Smuckers in Orville yesterday. Was pretty impressed with a Millis trainer. This trainer hopped out of the truck so student could back in to drop trailer. The trainer didn’t give student any help he was just standing out there to give the stop signal, which he did. I like it, it forced the student to think it out and GOAL.
Used to get under my skin, my trainer would be making all these weird arm gestures and shouting right, left other way. Students need to see what’s going on on the back end of trailer when they back in.
Also want to say it seems like Millis is hauling a lot of Smuckers. 2 other Millis trucks were there and we were dropping trailers in doors and picking up loaded trailers in drop lot. -
If it’s Smuckers it has to be good!
MIT and JOHNQPUBLIC Thank this. -
I’d say you car is an extension of our home. Drive it. That’s a stupid policy. PC should either have a mileage set point like 100 miles per day. OR as long as you have 70 left your good to go.
Be Safe Out There

Yup. Everyone has to begin somewhere, and I firmly believe that your first gig will play a big part in how you function for the rest of your career. If you go to a company where you're just a number, that'll affect your attitude and growth for the rest of your time on the road. They aren't perfect, but no company is. They're a solid choice for your first gig. By the way I don't post on this thread anymore, or very rarely. I'll shoot you a message from another thread.MIT Thanks this.

Anyone familiar if Valley View Distribution Center (aka West Rock) in Valley, AL will load early? Tried calling both numbers I have for them. Left voicemail on one and no answer on the 2nd. Have a 3 PM appt time tomorrow and I can get there way before that. Thanks.
