Millis OTR journal

1 of my students just went there yday. 3pm appt got there in morning and they loaded him

 

Steelersjunkie, i definitely feel comfortable starting out at Millis after reading this thread. They are close to where I'll be living and they have in-house schooling, good starting pay. As you said, everyone has to start somewhere and Millis sounds like a great starting point versus those mega carrier horror stories we all hear.

 

Speaking of which, once again I need to give props to Pat for coming through for me when he didn't really have to. I had forgotten that I had something that I wanted to do at home this weekend. I remembered Monday morning. Put in the hometime request, in the reason I put "I know this is short notice."

Didn't hear anything back about it until yesterday. After I had finished unloading in Chicago (which wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting), I put in my ready call. Didn't take long at all before I got a load. Pick up in Horicon, deliver in York, PA. Then a message "Take this by the house and deliver Monday morning."

Longest dang commute home ever but here I am.

Arrived at West Rock at Noon. Still haven't started loading me as of 3:25 PM. Didn't make out as well as keen's former student yesterday.

 

Anyone ever deliver to Tractor Supply in Waco? Is it drop and hook? Qualcomm said 7 pm delivery on Monday. I could easily be there 7am Monday. Ideally would like to take care of it am and be on my way out of Texas by noon or shortly thereafter.

 

That sucks! Sorry man my student got there in the mornkngmand was gone in 3 hours. You going to Coca Cola in NY?

 

Ask dispatch tomorrow if its a drop and hook. Reading the reviews it sounds like cant arrive before 1hr from appointment. If its not a drop and hook ask dispatch tomorrow if you can drop in Burleson 1st thing Monday morning. If they say no, then message your personal dispatcher 1st thing Monday morning and ask him if you can drop it in Burleson. We have plenty TX regional guys that can run that #### down there Monday night so you can stay rolling.

If you can make Burleson tomorrow I'd get there and take your break. They are more likely to let you drop it there if your already there
