I'm a plasma/oxyfuel CNC operator too, lol there's a few of us on here. Been there for 16 years, told them yesterday I'm leaving they were surprised to say the least. Won't miss the smoke in that place, those water tables don't exactly eliminate it

Speaking of smoke...we have OSHA coming in next week and we need one Tig welder, mig welder, powder coater, sandblaster to wear air quality meters while working.....this should be fun.

I could imagine OSHA inspecting our place, especially during the winter when the big bay door is closed. If we're cutting anything over 3/8" it looks like the place is on fire, and we stock up to 4". I bet my lungs don't know yet that I quit smoking 3 years ago

You're probably right but don't ever hesitate to advise them of what's happening there on the ground so to speak. You are there and have first hand knowledge of what's up.

Honestly I'm not sure I would have gone as far as you did without some type of additional compensation. That is way beyond a good sweep job which we clearly are responsible for. Spending an hour prying nails up after a John Deere load is bad enough in my opinion. I go somewhat above and beyond here and there but you earned a gold medal today.

What could go wrong? Should be stress free and easy. I'm sure your camera won't go off once.

You going to that distributor on Halsted, or somewhere worse? Because that place ain't too bad aside from being in Chicago.

Me, calling Lexington Ave warehouse: Hello, I need to check in for s pick up.
Guy on phone:. Have you checked in?

    *facepalm*

Also how many loads a week do we pull from this place? I know there's a lot. Why does dispatch act like they don't know wtf you're talking about when you tell them you need that code/number that begins with an "S?"

"We have the pickup number and the BOL #."

Asking again later after attempting to check in using just the pickup number and BOL number. "Try this sequence of numbers that begins with a S."

    Like mother####ing magic.
