Well, I made it home. My delivery this morning was interesting, for lack of a better description. As long as I've lived in Ohio, never been to that area of Cleveland before. The streets there reminded me of the streets around the Miller plant in Milwaukee. Tight and unforgiving. And the dock was no picnic. But I survived. Deadheaded to my usual truck stop, then grabbed an Uber home. I think the ride home was the most notable part of my day. Strange lady. She was definitely receiving signals from outer space. And I think she was hitting on me, in her weird way. I am home, and finally relaxing. The first thing I saw was a deer at the end of the driveway to greet me. Frigging fantastic man, this is what I was looking forward to. F the city. I'll be home for 5 days, which means I'll have a lot of time for you guys. Hit me up if you need anything or have questions. Peace guys. It's shower and beer time. Talk to y'all soon.

I'm about to go to my DOT physical. I was going through my email looking for some info from the doctors office, when my Millis payroll email came through. For those who are NOT employees of Millis and looking for info about income....This payroll email reflects the check coming next Tuesday morning. And, it will be the last check I get in the month of May. So up to that point, I'm at $23,850 for gross earnings. That does include bonuses. The only reason I'm giving out this info is for people who are on the fence when picking a school or their first company. I haven't been here for a full year, I'm at about 10 months. So I'm a rookie. And in 5 month's time this year, that's what I made. That's a pretty hard number to argue with, if money is your main motivation. Add to that the quality of the equipment, the garage service, the promptness of home time, attention from dispatch, the personal care from the front office...I'm not really sure how anyone could make a solid argument for another company to begin your career. David, I know you can't see it, but I'm raising a beer to you. Cheers man, and thanks for the opportunity. I appreciate you sir, and your company.

Oh wow. This makes my checks look like dimes n quarters. I can't wait to get this change over started. Just curious but how much does the insurance cost? I've got a dr now that includes Dot in his monthly cost, mine only cost me 50.00 and he's on the approved list so it's kinda good this way.

Here's a handy life hack for ya. How to save money on truck parking when you go home. I have no idea why I never mentioned this before. I parked yesterday at my normal spot, in free parking. As is normal at pretty much every truck stop, nobody will say anything to you unless you go beyond 24 hours. Today I paid for reserve parking for tonight through Sunday night, and then moved my truck to the appropriate section. On Monday morning I will go back to my truck and move it back into a free parking spot until I leave the following morning. So, I paid for 4 days but park for 6. I'm quite sure I'm not the first person to think of this but I've never seen it mentioned before, so there you go. You're welcome

Nothing much to report today. Got my new medical card filed with the DMV, and emailed it to Black River. And working on getting my new phone set up. Welcome to the boring home time updates. On a side note, here's my quick techy nerd review of the Samsung Galaxy 8. It's ridiculous how good this phone is. 8 core processor and unbelievable video. 64 gigs of memory upgradeable to 320 gigs. Apps move at lighting quick speed, internet and wifi are reacting at double speed. As soon as the contract expires on my Gs6, I will be getting another one of these. Two of these phones in one truck might just make the world explode. Welcome to modern trucking, navigation, and trip planning taken to the ultimate level. Jerry Reed would have lost his mind. Rest in peace, Snowman.
