Seriously Cold Spring Brewing? Today could end my not getting a preventable streak.
-
Made it, streak lives on for another day!
-
Tough to get in and out of there?

Yeah it’s a weird set up almost like a strip mall parking lot with little islands in front of the docks. Docks are blind side angled also. Freaked me out when I got there. One guy was trying to back in, his driver side steer tire was up over the curb putting more of a rut in the lawn which abutted a hill. Oh and what little space you have to maneuver you have employees cars to deal with.
I got lucky 2 trucks left minutes a part so I had room to squeeze in. -
I was pretty impressed how Millis handled it. There was no screaming or yelling or getting pissy with the guy. They pretty much said get your #### in order then think about becoming a driver.
Lol I don’t think I would have lasted if he stuck around. The guy was a talker and he had a Boston accent. I spent 2 days with him as a roomie and on the second day my nerves were fried.
I got up in the morning to get ready to go to class. He was standing outside the bathroom door the entire time talking to me through the bathroom door. 20 minutes just rambled on how he will be back. -
Would like to thank Steelersjunkie for creating several outstanding threads including this one. The guy is a stand up guy who lol has no filter. He tells you what’s on his mind. During my search for the right fit in this industry the best resource I had was SJ talking about his experiences here at Millis.
I talked to several recruiters from other companies and in the end because SJ doesn’t live to far away from me and it always seemed the positives outweighed the negatives here at Millis, I chose Millis.
It was funny when I did talk to the recruiter at Millis she really couldn’t tell me anything I already didn’t know.
So thank you Steelersjunkie your contributions here will be sorely missed.dwells40 Thanks this. -
Did the Millis 500 today, the white Kenworth and the Freightliner were great but the red Kenworth was a little bit tougher lol. Did great with the shifting even though I have a few regular 5 speed shifting habits to break, man do those die hard. Helped a guy in class with his shifting, he was having a pretty hard time, I guess my way of explaining it worked for him so that was cool. We're pulling trailers around tomorrow, or as Bill said "running trailers into- I mean pulling trailers around tomorrow
MIT Thanks this. -
It’s a blast isn’t it? Man I was so excited the first day I was able to hop in the truck. Lol to be honest even after 9 months that excitement has not worn off.

It was pretty awesome. The Millis 500 lets you know where your legs are at, we were all wiggle walking across the parking lot after shifting for 8 hours! Paul has been here over the past couple of days, Paul the 72? year old oldest Millis driver, with "The Legend" on his shirt lmao! I'd say he's earned that, that's awesome. He about blew my mind when he told me he's from Olmsted Falls, how cool is that. Olmsted Falls or Olmsted Township, I think he had a place on Stearns. Too much information going into my head lately lol
