Wassup y'all, hello from Lincoln Illinois. The last few days felt like a movie title. "Escape From New York". I'm completely mentally drained and looking forward to my pillow. Normally, I'd be pushing to start as soon as possible so that I can put myself in position for a prime run. Not tonight. I'm going to give my body the sleep it's screaming for. I have a delivery window of 7am-1pm and I can get there by 8:30. I'm gonna shoot for 11, good enough. Last time I posted I was in Ohio heading for New York. It was a Cummins load. A little ironic that it was being hauled by a Paccar unit lol. After delivery, Opie asked if I had hours to handle a specific load. All I could do was guess, as I didn't have specific addresses to work with. He sent me the load, and I picked it up. Once hooked, I realized I didn't have what I needed on my 70. Opie sent me to Weedsport to drop it, then gave me a load that picked up in Little Falls a couple hours away. I've never had an issue with weight on a load before, but I did on this one. When I pulled away from the dock, I figured that my weights were off. But the closest scale on my route was 75 miles away. I went there the next morning and weighed my truck. My load wasn't legal. In order to get the weights right, I had to slide my tandems all the way to the rear. Since it's illegal to run like that, I had to go back to the shipper and have it reloaded. I'd just have to use my suspension load gauge as a guide. It took four times for them to get it right. Four. And 3.5 hours of my time. I was finally satisfied after the last time. When I scaled it again, the weights were perfect. Finally. I moved on and was able to make it to one of my favorite places before I ran out of time. Yesterday, I ran from there to the eastern side of Indiana. This morning I made it to my final. What a relief. I picked up a Budweiser load in St. Louis bound for Wisconsin. I'm 4.5 hours away with plenty of cushion to work with. I'm running on pure recaps, and I'll have 9.5 hours to work with tomorrow. I need a B service, I think I'm going to request a reset when I go to the shop. Might as well. My 70 could use it. Alrighty guys, that's it for tonight. Be safe out there as always. Talk to y'all soon. Sleep coming in 3....2....1.....

Once I finish training I am going to try and get onto the Midwest Regional fleet. Does anyone know what size sleepers the regional trucks have and do they have fridges? I know that KW has a 40 inch and a 52 inch but I did not pay that much attention at the terminals.Farmer54, Vic Firth, Shock Therapy and 4 others Thank this. -

Hey Steelersjunkie. I've been reading a lot of threads and was just wondering if you ever know what happened to zano_steverino. Did he ever finish the CDL training with the local tech school and come back to Millis?

Wassup Truckerland. Tonight I'm checking in from Seymour Indiana. Wow, it's Wednesday already. I haven't posted since Sunday? Sheesh, I'm slacking big time. Senioritis I guess. So, I delivered my beer load from my last post in Sun Prarie Wisconsin on Monday. I was unloaded very quickly as is usual at that place. Opie gave me a load bound for Lawrenceburg Tennessee. It was sitting at the Richfield yard, nice easy dnh. I had to have the delivery time changed, as my hours were low. I actually was given my choice of 2 loads and there was no way I could reach either of them on time with what I had left. Gotta love it. By the time I hooked in Richfield I only had 3 hours left, and 8 coming back the next day. So, leaving that night would have served no real purpose. So, I decided to hang at the terminal for the night. The fact that it was my birthday pushed that decision a little. I logged off, got some bills sent in, then headed across the street for some of Milwaukee's finest. In the morning, I pushed down to Franklin Kentucky. This morning, I finished my load and was given a load that picked up 2 miles away. Dam I love it when that happens! I went to the first scale on my route and checked the weight. Then stopped shortly after that for fuel. This load is heading to Neenah Wisconsin, but I'll be dropping in Richfield. It's time for my baby to get her B service. I'm hoping they have some of the new Qualcomm units there, I was given the green light to get a new one since mine is giving me problems. And I'll be getting my truck turned back up, finally. 62 is a crappy number. I honestly don't mind that speed and I'll probably continue to run like I am now. However, being able to pass and not getting caught in a log jam will be wonderful. I'd use the same philosophy if I was in a 70mph truck. Run at 65, pass when you need to. It makes life less frustrating. I know one thing, the mileage I get at 62 is phenomenal compared to my old numbers. I'm sure that is partly due to the fact that I am much more patient than I was a year ago. Tomorrow is gonna be all about chores and sleep. By the time I get to the terminal, it'll be close to noon. That'll mean dispatch won't come until morning. Gonna knock out some laundry then saw a whole pile of logs. That's it for tonight, I'll catch y'all on the flipside. Be safe out there guys, and keep the rubber side down. Peace.
