You know, the majority of reviews for companies are negative like you say. You know 1 company that hardly has any negatives online about then? Millis, who just sold out to a company that you cant really find any positives on.....

And that’s why I don’t trust Millis anymore. Sad day for me and a lot of others.

Here’s what I learned the last 19 months. If your company is debt free, makes money, and owns everything, terminals, land, equipment, and was bought as wholly owned subsidiary like we were, then you’re good, if they bought Millis like they did the last 2, then it won’t turn out good.

Knight bought us, we thought the end was coming, then what changed our thinking was this. They also own Barr-Nunn, bought them a few years ago and left them alone. Heartland has a track record of buying companies for the freight and to eat up the competition.

What we were told 19 months ago is that we make money, good money, why would we change anything that would jeopardize the earnings? Made sense to me.

See you had Barr Nunn to fall back on as "hope". They had previously bought someone and left them alone. Maybe I'm missing someone but is there anyone Heartland has bought and has left them alone? Obviously Gordon and Interstate are the only 2 that come to mind that Heartland has bought, and they definitely weren't left alone to run business as usual.

Download my Qualcomm? Yup, I'm going to get my training from this awesome Keen guy I keep hearing about. Hopefully get a year under my belt before anything changes for the negative. Maybe we'll get a pleasant surprise...maybe.

One thing I forgot to mention that might put a damper on this conversation. When our owners decided to sell because of retirement, they shopped around. The first company they approached was Heartland, then US Express. They didn’t like what they heard and passed in them. They chose Knight. Our President is one of the owners, albeit a nephew, but I watched him wash trucks, dispatch, plow snow, and anything else needed. He was given a 5 year contract to stay on and continue running the company.

I’m just trying to throw whatever info I have when we got bought out. Yes it is different to a certain extent. You can go anywhere with your record you like. What I’m trying to say is give it time. You’re smart enough to see if the changes will be good or bad. When we got bought I was at the Richmond yard just coming out of the shower. I got a phone call from my DM, right then I told him I’m done. I’m glad I stayed.

Oh I understand what you're doing and I appreciate the info since you have been through this it does give me a little hope that there is a chance Millis stays the Millis that has the good reputation . Again thanks for the info on your experience. I'm not leaving here until I 1st hand see changes that effect me.

I am new to all this so for me it’s just going to be interesting to see the difference between family owned and corporate owned. As long as we all stay safe we will all land on our feet either here or somewhere else.
