    Anyone who needs a reflector on trailer to tell them they are jacknifed essentially doesn’t need to have a cdl since they obviously can’t see through mirrors to properly look around them..

    It's not really jackknife position. Less than that. It is avoid damaging our cab extenders. Trailers run somewhat tight behind the tractor and non adjustable 5th wheel makes sure they stay there.

    Its supposed to be a guide for when you are turning to tight and going to bend your cab extender. Its what I tell all my students to look for. Once you lose that in your sight you are dangerously close to fn things up

    I think some people have difficulty distinguishing between necessities and niceties.

    I imagine the reason there trailers weren't specced with the reflectors is because Heartland's trucks have sliding fifth wheels.

    I can live without them. I imagine most drivers can. but they're nice to have.
