Ga regional doesn't go out that far but they are expanding the TX regional fleet. They sent a message out last week looking for people in TX.

Hi everyone i'm a newbie here and i'm starting MIllis's training class on Apr. 30th in Cartersville GA. Does anyone have any input as to how you would be working once you are done with your trainer? I would love regional like L.B. but would like OTR every now and then. Home time is important to me as well. But i am excited about my new start with Millis.

well unless you have some "inside" connections you will start OTR. Then i think after 6 months you can try to get onto a regional account. I know someone got put on regional right away but that is rare.

Thanks samurai i was talking to my recruiter before i got accepted into the class and she was stating that it depended on what was open after i finish my training. We were talikng before then that i would be running regional but i guess i will see what happens. I'm excited all the way round and hope my experience with Millis will be a great one!!!!!

It will always be dependent on what positions are available. Regional is always more restricted than OTR because of the more specialized locations, loads, etc. there are a limited number of regional slots. big thing is plan on doing OTR first, it may not end up that way but then you won't be disappointed if you don't get it first thing. Make sure everyone knows you want regional, Greg, your trainer, the office, etc. They are more hesitant to give regional to new guys but it does happen. Remember you won't have the new student dispatcher if you get regional, you will be thrown straight into the fire. It's an adjustment, that's for sure. There is a learning curve. If there is a slot and truck available when you graduate, and Greg and your trainer think you can handle it there is no reason you couldn't get it.

Thanks a bunch L.B. That info was great what exactly were you referring to when you said new student dispatcher. Is there a special one that regulates which loads we can carry and what places we are sent.
