Ah OK lol. Yup Chris the instructor has said you guys will work same way as us from IL and IN. Good luck pay attention and you will have no problems. Chris is good instructor and puts in his time with anyone needing extra. Today's my last day of orientation and head out with trainer on Monday.
Thanks. I'm looking forward to it. Originally I was thinking that road testing after 15,000 miles with trainer would be better after more wheel time. This way might not be too bad. Another question regarding the licensing. Do you know why they are only doing it for the WI school and not system wide if it's a federal thing? Just rolling it out 1 school at a time maybe? Just curious if you know
Ya this way just makes it a little easier and travel etc. Still go out with trainer for the 15,000 miles then come back and do a road test at a terminal before getting your own truck. And no I'm not sure why its just the WISC school right now. I don't recall hearing Chris say why its like that but I may have missed it.
What if you are from the test state? I.E. If I'm in GA taking the school in GA, Catersville location. Are they going to send me to a DMV here in GA or am I going to take the test at school? TIA.
I'm not 100% positive since I did all my stuff in Wisc but I'm pretty sure they will send you to a GA DMV to take it. I could be wrong but that'd be my gues
After lunch I asked Chris about why it was Wisc only who's doing the CDL tests by 3rd party. He said its couple different reasons. 1 being the facilities at other places aren't big enough/nice enough. 2 is some states don't have 3rd party testers. He may have given another reason and i forgot but honestly I was ready to get on road and get home orientation is 2 boring ### days lol
Update.... Spent the last 2 days out on the road driving. Wednesday was city driving. Did about 2 hours each going from town to town. Tons of shifting practice and dealing with tight turns and traffic. Today we ran a circle from Trenton, through Cincinnati, Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis, Dayton, Cincy, and finally back to Trenton. Tomorrow morning we are going for our drug test and then I'm not sure what we are doing the rest of the day. Orientation starts on Monday and finishes Wednesday. I will be going home for 5 days after orientation and then going out with my trainer starting on Monday the 21st. Bill has been an excellent instructor, and I have had a ball going through the training here in Trenton.
