Wellllll.......looks like either April 24 or May 1st i will be attending orientation in BRF as a re hire. Going back OTR for 6-8months at least and then switch over to Regional probably. Also will probably become a trainer like original plan was in the past.

Jusr an fyi to, well anyone i guess. OTR can be hard to do with kids, family, etc but just because a job says "Regional home every weekend" doesnt mean you're going to get more time with your kids. When i was at Millis before id stay out 2.5wks and come home for 5 days Thurs-Mon then do it all over. So id get 5-6 days off at home each month depending if Opie got me home early which he tends to do. Well my current "regional home every weekend" job I've had exactly 2 full days off in the last 11 weeks. Those 2 days off I actually got home Friday didn't leave till Sun morn so had all of Sat off. Every othet week besides those 2 ive gotten home between 10am-1pm on Sat and turrned right back around left on Sun at very minute my 34 hour reset was up, and had to drive all night Sat morn just to make it home by 10am-1pm. So then gotta get laundry done, groceries bought, and any other errand that needed done before time to leave again.
So which 1 allowed for more quality time with my 2 4yr old twin boys? Pretty obvious huh, and thats why I'm coming back. Sorry for long post, but wanted give heads up to any other drivers that were in my position.

A shining example of why you should always do your best to leave a company, any company, on good terms.

I'm sure they are glad to have you back, good employees are ever hard to find.

What was the verdict on the training, 3 months or six?

Ane yes leaving on good terms is the way to go. Thought Opie was gonna jump thru phone when i called him yesterday lol. Asked him if offer still stood bout coming back whenever, and he replied "in a fn heartbeat I'll take ya back" lol. Anxious to get started bacj

I didnt ask about the training part yet. Ill mention it at orientation wasnt exactly sure thatd be a question recruiter knew off top her head. And

May 1 it is. Looking forward to being back. Not looking forward to 2 days of orientation especially in BRF....i always tried getting in and out of there asap and preferrably after hours lol. Hopefully get a good truck again. Truck i originally had was given to me with only 9k miles which was great.

To many cooks sticking their fingers in your soup at the main office?

I do have to say, maybe there is some area I didn't see or just wasn't paying attention but when I was up there to talk to the recruiter I wad expecting it to be.... larger? More industrial? Not sure the proper term. Almost drove by it though because I was expecting "more" I guess.

Na BRF is fine, and was just a personal preference to always sneak in and out lol. Being the main terminal with all the big shots just gotta watch your p's and q's obviously. Ive never had any problems there and everyone is extremely friendly.

Ya i know exactly what you mean about the terminal. You would think beinh the home office its going to be this big glorious terminal, and then you get there and thereis barely room to park overnight, and is basically in a residential area lol. Its the smallest of all the terminals which seems odd since its the main terminal

Well, this is the first chance I have had to get on laptop and update this thread. That is a good thing though because that means I have been rolling. I'm at about 6,000 miles now and learning all the paperwork and Quallcomm like I'm supposed to.

My new trainer is night and day better for me. We have our moments of frustration but being in close quarters with someone so much will do that to you. The main thing is he is not putting my safety and CDL in Jeopardy by having me do stuff I know I shouldn't. He does drive a little different than me but he just suggests things instead of "DO THIS". That makes it so much easier for me since I'm already stressed enough with all this information being thrown at me. We had a little downtime here in Richfield at terminal so I did laundry and swung by Walmart to stock up. This guy actually gave me some space on shelves to put stuff which helps a ton.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't homesick. Every couple days it just hits me and I'm man enough to say I have been in tears. Its just a combination of stress, nerves and being homesick. I have been out for 2.5 weeks so far and I definitely think I'm going to be a 3 week out 4-5 days home guy. The not knowing when I'm getting home that is stressful but I have a GREAT woman at home tending the house and understands the lifestyle. Thank God for technology I can speak and see what they are up to daily. I can't imagine how it was in the old days.

Well we are heading towards West Allis tonight to pick up and head to Lawrenceburg, TN. I'm going to get some rest and just clear my mind a little. I will update this as soon as I can but it may be a few weeks again. Take Care
