You should also know that I am going OTR don't plan on coming home often. My IRS deduction is more beneficial to me than the per diem plan from Millis. I'm planning on being on the road over 300 days a year. So again, my path and my choices may not have any bearing in what you do for your pay and benefits.

No, sorry. Like I said, my internet screwed up, I meant to delete that. I am not going to do per diem, at any point.

This is where I exit the conversation. See you on the next thread. I'll be making 40cpm on straight pay if I hit 2k miles. 41 if I hit 2500. 42 if I hit 3k. Plus my safety bonus. Plus my fuel bonus. This is a dead-end conversation. Leaving this thread. Peace y'all.

Congratulations STEELERSJUNKIE. Millis is a good company. I went thru their school and drove for them for a year and a half.
One of the guys I went thru school with still works there and loves it. He's on regional out of Cartersville and stays out for about 3 weeks at a time. Gets all the miles he wants. He tells me he gets over 3000 alot. He's also not afraid to run out of the region either and his dispatchers know that.
My experience with them was very good. I was never lied to and never got cheated out of pay. If you show them your willing to run, they will give you the miles.
I have talked to some drivers that would disagree with that and I don't want to take away from their experience. I can only tell you mine.
The only reason I left was I wanted to be home more than even regional allowed.
Now I drive a 16 foot flatbed for a company shuttling supplies and product 1 mile in between their 2 plants. Ha. Yeah I know. I really did like driving the big truck and maybe will again some day but right now I'm where I need to be.
I read on TTR some place a driver was giving advise to someone and said " slow is safe and safe is fast "
That is good advice. Just take your time and don't let anyone push you to go faster or rush you.
Good luck with your training.Steelersjunkie and FLYMIKEXL Thank this. -
