I saw a couple guys say they do 11-14 days out and 3-4 days in.... If my trainer runs me hard and I get into the habit of doing that I will continue the trend... Even though I like the Regional and I heard guys also saying if dispatch ask them to go out longer they have that choice. I want to make money drive hard for about 8-10 months then tone it down the last 2-4.

I'm trying not to have a apartment for as long as I can no rent would be great for my pockets doesn't make since to get apartment in my eyes if I'm not there... So if I can make the truck comfortable get out get a hotel in my hometime or stay at my mom and save about 10-15k in the meanwhile hey why not

Again, my sincere apologies for a long post. Every single company out there will give you a guaranteed amount of home time per unit worked. So, Millis is 1.5 days per week on the road. Keep this in mind though...they'll give you the time off that you request (as any company will) but you have to take into account for money and time lost for routing on their part. For example....If I run 3 and a half weeks straight I am owed about six days of home time. I am only asking for 4. But now, I have truck sitting idle that has to be scheduled for a load and they have to find me one. It won't be based on what is convenient for me, it will be based on what is convenient for them, because now they have to figure out how to get you back into the flow. Home time sounds great but there is integrated downtime that goes with it. Constant contact with your dispatcher and a willingness to please will smooth that out a bit, but home time is a dream with any company if you want to make good money. I'm not trying to pee on your dream. Millis is awesome, and like I said, I'm already family here and I haven't even finished school yet. This company will treat you well but there is no company out there that will have some kind of regularly formatted home time schedule. If you are truly excited about it, these questions and possible doubts you have will disappear. This life is awesome man, wish I did it years ago.

That is a great way to look at it. If I was single, I wouldn't have my own place, I'd just stay on the road and bank the money. But, I have a wife, and a daughter, so again...We can't ever compare paychecks. But I am very satisfied with what I know is coming, if that helps to answer your question. Remember these two rules. First, don't sweat the small things in life. Second, everything in life is a small thing lol :)

Class is 3 and a half weeks. You are free to go home on the weekends. When you graduate you can choose to leave immediately with your driver trainer or you go home first and get picked up there. You will be with your driver trainer until you have driven 15000 miles. There are people who have done it in 5 weeks, but it's rare. You should be able to do it in 6. Definitely by 8, but that's really slow. During this time, you will have taken your CDL test. When your 15000 miles are complete, Millis will give you a road test to make sure that your skills are good enough to be on your own. Then you get your own truck. While you are running your 15000 miles, you are allowed to go home if you wish.
