Ditto on what Baritone said. A bit over-whelming at first but gets easier as each day passes.

Woody helps the other instructors out when they are on vacation or have classes larger than 6 students. Woody is a daily regional driver. He is a real pro. He is really a "cornucopia of knowledge" I feel lucky to have been able to experience him. Thanks Woody!

Week 3 was over the road driving. Each student gets 10 hours of drive time or more. Since there were 6 in our class that meant 2 hours driving and 10 hours sitting. It was a long week. If there are more than 6 in a class they split the class since there are more than one training truck or "schoolbus" as they call them, lol. Orientation was three days of a general overview of company policies, pay structures, insurance choices, qualcom basics. Every student had a trainer whith a departure date lined up by the end of class. I have had mine for 2 weeks. You will get to choose your departure date.
I graduated yesterday and chose to leave today. This is a really exciting time for me as this has been in the planning for over a year! I must reiterate one more time " Millis is a class outfit". Everything with this company is first class, imo. The adventure begins................WOOHOO! -
Good luck with your trainer...keep us posted on how it goes out there!!

I started with my Trainer today. I was picked up at the Petro Truck Stop in Fremont, Indiana. My Trainer is Dan and he put me right in the drivers seat! I got in 5 hours of wheel time across I 90 to Pa. Almost 300 miles! Construction, construction, construction- wow those lanes get narrow. Harborcreek Pa. TA is home tonight. South Glenn Falls New York is our destination tomarrow. I am in a very nice T7000 and my Trainer is awesome. I met Corporal from Millis at the Fremont Truckstop and there are at least 3 other Millis trucks here at Harborcreek. Everything is going well. I just need to learn to drive. These trucks are completely different animals from the training trucks at Trenton. I actually backed into my first parking space at a truckstop. This place was packed. It is a whole different story compared to backing into orange barrels. Having a whole lotta fun already!
Hitman Thanks this. -
Congrats man! You'll probably pass by Harborcreek quite a bit, I-90 is a well traveled lane for a lot of us. Be safe out there and have fun along the way.

Sitting in South Glens Falls in New York. In the sleeper. Headed for Richfield in the morning. We will spend the weekend there. By the time we reach Richfield I will have my first 1000 miles in! Backed into my first dock today. Alot of "firsts" happening every day and I am barely 24 hours into training. And yes it is as great as I imagined! Woo Hoo!
