Last week I got moved from Marco over to Greg. He was on vacation my first week with him. (Heard he was getting me and had to rest up....lol) So I have no idea about him yet. I'm sure it will be fine. Coming off hometime Tuesday morning.

I have now been with Millis 1 year! It really went fast. I have been in my own truck for 10 months exactly. Actually I have been in 2 trucks. First a 660 and now my beloved T2000. I have run 128000 safe miles. I noticed on the June mileage report that I was 5th in miles company wide. Absolutely no regrets with Millis.
A couple of things that have happened I would like to share. I remember backing into a dock with my doors closed, :/ I stopped at a shipper for a drop and hook and it took me at least 30 minutes to get the trailer backed in to drop, at least 6 GOAL's :/ I was backing into a spot at a TA when a driver starts hollering on the CB "Look Out! Stop!, I got out to check what was up and he and a few others thought that was very entertaining.
I chose practical, per diem as my pay scale and my average take home over the 10 months is about 825 with my personal best being 1285. The quarterly bonus' have been just shy of 600 each. I try to drive 8:45 a day when the schedule allows to prevent resets on the road. I have only done 2 resets on the road. My longest run was 52 days out.
I have already seen guys come and go. I think the biggest thing is don't hit stuff. Be courteous and professional and on time.
The other Millis guys have been an immeasurable help to me, namely Baritone, Bear, and my Trainer just to name a couple. I don't post alot on here but I do continue to read often and help when I can with my limited experience. Alot of the Millis guys are on FB and I stay in touch daily with about 30 of them. It really helps to know who is where and what is happening.
All in all I think Millis was the best place for me to be. Great people, Great equipment, they keep me moving and making money and I am very happy working here. -
Congrats Mojo on your one year! Nothing wrong with getting out of the truck a hundred times when backing. It's what keeps us skinny guys skinny (and from hitting stuff)!
I had to back in a spot the other night at a truck stop at 2am. I was tired and there was another truck waiting on me to get past. I must have got out 10 times to make sure I did not hit either truck on both sides of the space I was backing into. I did not care what the guy was thinking. He can wait on me.MojoPotatoe Thanks this. -
Well I have made a full year Jan to Jan. I went per diem/ practical total earned 51,478.26. Between Federal and state taxes I ended up owing just over 2 hundred. The quarterly bonuses have all been in the 550 to 650 dollar range. I have yet to receive a year end bonus as that will come at the end of April. I started in a 660 and then moved to a T2000. The equpment here is excellent. I am currently enroute to Eau Claire and have been told to report to Black River Falls and since the 680's are being handed out I think that might be the reason. I am not really looking forward to leaving the T2 as it has been very good to me. Pay has always been on time and correct. Getting home when requested has been mostly on time. Never more than 24 hours late. Miles are good, maintainence on the truck has also been very good. I still feel I could not have made a better choice for a company.
It has been a definite lifestyle change. The road and truck are home. The house is a place that I visit occasionally. New guys should expect this.
If you are thinking of trucking I don't think you can go wrong with Millis. Be a self starter and able to work independently. In my year I have seen many come and go but none have left that I know because they didn't like the company. Good luck and stay safe out there. Mojo out.g22mac Thanks this. -
