Thanks for the tip Gilley.you are correct. I was in Trenton on The 19th and got the chance to talk to Bill Smith. He had me take him for a ride. 30 minutes later grinding is gone with a total understanding of what the drivetrain likes and dislikes, why the grinding existed and an overall lesson on big truck differences. Drove to Middleton WI last night and arrived in Madison just in time for rush hour this morning, excellent downshifting practice and I could not be happier! 6 days of frustration cured that easily. Bill Smith is really something else! While I was in Trenton I got the call for a random pee test. That has to be some kind of record! Next trip is to Minnesota load is due at 11am. I don't know when we are leaving I just know when the trainer is ready it is time to go! Thanks again everyone for the tips and the phone calls.

Oh yes, Life is good! I am shifting like a maniac, give me more, more, more! Delivered in Channhassen Minnesota rolls of paper and sitting loading now at Conagra in Shakopee Minnesota headed to Georgia. The tractor is a much happier place now. I am amazed at the difficulty I had with the shifting just a few minor adjustments made all the difference in the world. Probably the most frustrating experience I can remember. Well time to let it go. I have my tip packs down and the qualcom. I am always looking forward to the backing maneuvers at the docks. All I can say at the moment is WOO HOO! My Trainer says "about bloody time" LOL. :biggrin_25521:

Arrived at the Richfield terminal 23:30 last night doing a 34. I went across the street for breakfast this morning with 3 other drivers. Good food and good conversation. We are headed for Monroe Georgia tomarrow. I don't know what time as I haven't been told but with the 34 I would guess between 09:30 and 12:00. My trainer left last night and was supposed to be back today to practice backing maneuvers for my cdl test but no call no show:biggrin_25521: I am going for my cdl in 8 more days but I may reschedule. I do love it kicking back at the Richfield terminal lots of drivers to talk to. I spent my spare time practicing my pretrip verbage memorazation and doing a trip plan with my atlas and comparing it to the Gps, came out very simlar except the route through Chicago. Different drivers have different opinions on tackling Chicago. Time of day being a major factor. GTown stopped in with his Trainer to do some laundry so I was able to chat with him and compare notes. Weather was beautiful so a pretty good day all in all.:biggrin_25519:

Well I just ran into a speed bump. Talked to my dispatcher Jeff this morning to voice some concerns. I was told to clear my gear and wait for a new trainer, so I am on hold at Richfield for now. I am very relieved. Once again I must say Millis is a no nonsense professional company. This was not a case of everything not going my way at all but a case of unethical and unprofessional behavior. I did not make this decision until confering with several veteran trainers. I have received only solid advice and support from Millis drivers.

It has nothing to do with me but I feel terrible you had that kind of experience right out of the gate. I hope and pretty sure your next trainer will be a better fit for you and you will get the quality training you deserve.
